As the title suggests I would be interested to know how much was removed and what was the most popular piece of space junk.....besides Giant Secure Containers ofc.

Seeing CCP Navigator would have my ass for spamming again, i will have to actually answer this in a fair way.

So:

Billions of isk in secure cans.
And millions of noobshyips ? :)

I made some screenshots in the ice field of Abudban:

Before

It took around 5 seconds to load the ice field after clearing compared to the 15-20 seconds before.

If the answer is "No Difference Whatsoever", do we get our navigation cans 150km+ from gates and offplane warpables back?
No.

If therefore the only speed improvements are in anchorable belts, can we get rid of the ice and roids and improve the speed there even more?
After all, we've seen that removing valuable Eve content is secondary to perceptions of speed improvements.

Can somebody say "You had warning, time to bookmark all those things" with no knowledge whatsoever of how long it takes to probe scan a single system, let alone every system in Eve?

tssssst.

I don't know how much was collected .. but I'd wish CCP would put it all in my hanger in Perimeter so I could recycle it into ore ... and sell the ore. Razz

There will be a huge difference. Like in nanoseconds.

I think the performance gain would be either upon loading the grid or jumping into the system...I think it would be jumping into the system. This would be most noticeable in high-sec space with lots of asteroid belts, I imagine. Some concrete numbers would be interesting though.

I have discussed this with the good doctor EyjoG.
He's highly interested in the statistics behind this and I've sent information his way for analysis. You can expect a dev-blog from him containing these statistics in the future (and I give absolutely no promises on his behalf as to when that will be) as well as other economic goodies.

Wow...I didn't think there was a single person in EVE who wasn't happy to see all that can spam go.

Guess there has to be one in every crowd though.

(And FYI you can bookmark space and not the can itself ya know...problem solved)

I always look forward to the Econ blog. Glad CCP Prism X collected the can info and it will be included. Maybe not useful but a fun stat nonetheless.

It gave systems a sense of history, walking in paths that others have trodden. Now it's quite sterile, that's about it for the actual trash.

Now the stuff that was removed that is not, was not, and was unlikely to ever be trash, ie useless, I'm not getting into again, the fanboiz are all out of interesting insults to sling. Besides, it's too late now. Prism X or whoever made the decisions has *******sed up a lot of stuff for quite a few people now. Adapt or Die as they like to trot out routinely.

(right up until CCP *******s up something they like, then it's complaint time and Adapt or Die is out of the window)

Oright.

Back when my corp was in Empire and we got a new contract, I usually got a bit impatient for the 48 hours to pass between voite/dec/being able to shoot.

So I leave anchored containers outside their base with a catchphrase like "Tick Tock". (Blatant rip).

I didn't want to travel all the way back to get rid of those cans though.

I'm going to miss the Exiled. propaganda in Wiskeber though, that was nostalgic.... good old times.

You think that's bad? Once I was involved in an empire war where whenever one of our guys was podded, they would go to our HQ station and anchor a secure container named "Here Lies [player]" and put our corpses inside of it. I have to admit that as a green 6 million SP player, is was kind of intimidating. Shocked
