why is it that a torp has a 70km radius explosion graphic? why is it that a missle, no matter the size, has to make your danged ship shake, and why is it that ship shake has to transfer onto your screen shaking? i dont need a little wiggle from my screen to let me know a missle has hit.
why are missles so crappy for framerates? (screw off with your 8800 gtx tards)
i mean i can tell the missles are hitting by the non stop crashing and booming, the terrible lag, the explosion graphic artifacts, etc, so why the seventy kilometer graphic radius for torps? drones were nerfed for lag reasons, with missles being by far the greatest lag makers in the game. any reason?
why do rockets make so much danged racket?
if your advice to me is to get a new comp and to turn my sound off, please fall into a well.

The shaking screen is a pita tbqfh. Trying to click on the ui when under missile bombardment is like trying to feed yourself if you have the palsy. Your just gonna make a mess of it. Overall I like the missle effects but yeah the torps could be toned down just a bit.  |

Missiles are the primary reason I play with the sound turned off. If enough hit me at the same time my client lags to the point it takes forever to do anything. |

I thought this was going to either be an April fools thread or a Missile nerf thread, in the later case I clicked it intending to have some choice words for the OP. Somewhat shockingly I have to agree, I can't say how many times I have been aligning in either my Manticore or Crow and been in structure and felt that last explosion as I was warping off and thinking "well I'm about to see my pod, spam warp-to" only to see the warp effect kick in....  Also, the sound effects from missions where the NPCs fire missiles could double as a crowd control measure.  |

They "fixed" missiles by giving us a checkbox to completely remove the sound and graphics. Don't expect them to give the issue any real attention anytime soon. If you need proof, just look at turrets.
CCP obviously doesn't care about how EVE plays on systems that aren't their top of the line gaming rigs. |

I would be happy with a why to reduce the sound volume of the missiles... They are way over powering compared the other sounds. I don't want to have to play with my sounds off. But i can only take so much of this extra loud missile volume. I love how even when a ship is 25k a way and takes a it sounds the same as when your ship gets hit. I love how the sound of his hit also shakes my ship.. Maybe some basic space physics classes are need? No air in space = no sound waves.. When you get hit you hear a vibration from the impact on your hull. I have no seen any lag but the sound volume is just too much. |

My sentiments exactly. Torp graphics need toning down, and the shake needs to be optional. Or, better yet, change the shake effect to only occur in certain scenarios, regardless of what type of ammo is hitting you. Say you get broadsided by every gun on a Megathron, or a bunch of missiles from a Raven... THAT would be a good time to shake the camera. |

This is probably the truth, unfortunately. And I agree with the OP. At least they did remove the white or was it red flash when you took damage back near the release or so, but it's not much better, still. years later... Eve needs a proper overhaul already. more mmo's be damned. |

Un NERF 2T Missiles, Un Nerf Torps, And Un Nerf T2 Named Heavy Missiles give them some Velocity and Flight time.

Ah, yes, the first fool to react to the title without reading one word of the post. And I agree with the OP. Missile effects are pretty ridiculous, especially the torp explosion radius. Even back when torps still had a blast radius it was no where as near as big as the graphics would have you believe. |

I agree entirely:
1) Missile Effects, especially Torpedoes, are absolutely ridiculous; needs toning down.
2) The Sound Effects of the missiles, as some mentioned above, not only capable of locking the system, why I play with the sound OFF, but are also too loud, and are annoying as hell.
3) The shaking of the screen when the missiles hit, again disgustingly annoying crap that needs to be fixed.
4) Rocket Fire sounds like a Tommy Machine gun on amphetamines.
Anyway, I do agree. |

Hopefully they'll address this kind of stuff when they re-do the effects for Trinity.
Of course, they'd still need to fix it for those using classic. |

Jinx. Fire up the test server and find some missile spammers. I think you'll find most of those issues except 1) and 4) have been accetably delt with only awaiting transer to tranq with a hotfix. BTW the screen still shakes but not the ui which was the real problem the whole time.  |
