Howdy folks,

Recently there's been a rash of pod-killings on the test servers. This can cause other players to lose skill points and can ruin any testing they may have been doing. Obviously this is not a good thing.

Pod-Killing has been prohibited on the test-servers for many years now, I invite you all to check out the test-server bans and rules thread to familiarize yourself with the rules.

Because we've seen an increase in the occurances of this we will be reviewing the logs on the test servers and summarily banning many offenders. We would prefer that everyone be able to enjoy the benefits of the test server, but we also cannot let a few "bad apples" ruin it for everyone else.

Please be mindful of your actions and how they affect other players on the test servers. Be especially careful if you intend to use smartbombs, we would rather you not use them at all if you cannot keep an eye out for capsules.

On one of the previous mirrors I had to podkill my alt because he got trained a skill level too high.

In case I will need to loose some skillpoints in the future, will that sort of thing then be 'caught' by that monitoring?

Can't you set up rules like "3 days for accidental podkill (i.e. with smartbombs)" and "2 weeks for first non-accidental podkill (where you had to target the pod first)" and permaban if he kills again? I'm sure you can see those in your logs (i.e. intercept killmails)...

signed... im currently permabanned, for one accidental pod kill, i think its a bit harsh tbh, yes it was a smart bomb.. but perma banning is a bit ridiculous.. considering it was my first offense.

It would actually help if the testing area had cloning facilities.

You guys gotta be kidding. I'm banned because I accidentally podded someone by using a freaking smartbomb. I didnt even podded on purpose. Seriously ccp whats going on with you lately, you dont want people to use smarties, fine dont seed them to the market then. Its getting ridiculous.

There's been an increase in rule breaking in general.

1. People saying "It's a battleCRUISER" when their Myrmidon is in the "Cruisers and below" FFA.

2. Some idiot repeatedly camped BF1, but never actually killed anyone. He died a few times, got "dealt with" by an ISD, and attacked people with about 2 DPS. Fail much?

3. For a while there was a LOT of people coming to FFA5 (frigates) in bigger ships, usually smartbombing. Of course any frigate pilot with a brain can stay out of SB range, so they died too.

4. Someone started a camp on the pf- gate. On the test server.

I'm not sure what's going on.. I guess all the people who suck hardcore at PvP found out about the test server and how everything is 100 ISK there. At least it keeps them off of TQ.

Using the test server is a privilege. Not a right.
Follow the rules. They are posted EVERYWHERE.

If you don't, Just expect to get a perm-a-ban.

Firstly you are "only" banned till next mirror. Think there are a few exceptions, but mostly ban's are lifted when a new mirror arrives.

How do you know, that podding with a smartbomb wasn't on purpose? Or that someone didn't locked a pod by accident and didn't notice till it was to late?
Establishing intent is not done by what method the kill was executed by. It's like saying that people in green T-shirts only get a warning for stealing candy, while those in pink T-shirts gets jail time.

Only way is to monitor repeated offenders regardless of how they kill.

Finally!

Just throw 'em all out, they are not helping with testing anything anyways.
