In premium sometimes when I left click somewhere the roids seem to expand then retract in size, as if they were glitching for a second or something.
Is there an option for this?
It's just in premium...

I have seen that too. I just assumed it was a graphic glitch.

I use premium, I haven't checked if it is any different in classic.

I never saw it happening on the classic one, so I guess it must be some bug. Resizing asteroids doesn't really sound like a "Premium" feature ;). |

I think the bug may be in the Level of Detail code.
The farther things are, the smaller they appear, and if they appear small they don't need a detailed model with detailed textures, so what the engine does is it replaces big roids with smaller less detailed models as you move away. If you're sitting right on the edge between two of these models, or if there's a bug, you'll see the roid flip sizes like that.
I think. |

That sounds feasible Letouk. I've seen it too, and it definitely appears to be aggravated if you rotate the camera slightly. I figured it was exactly the same thing, it's as if there's a critical line that your POV crosses that toggles the model used for the asteroids in question. |

Edited by: Falkrich Swifthand on 26/02/2008 18:10:19 It is, the glitching goes away if you turn off LOD.
Though you don't want to do that, it hurts performance. Instead we should get CCP to fix the LODs on asteroids so that they don't change from quite large and obvious to tiny pinpr.ick specks on the LOD change.
