[EDIT] [03:06:39] EVE System > Channel changed to Decorum Inc Corp <- Corp found. Thank you to all that offered me place in their corps, appreciated, but a corp has been found and joined.

---------------------------------------------------------------------

There has been new development in my situation, as I’ve spent allot of time thinking of, and re-thinking what I want/need from EVE.

To reflect this, the old recruitment post has been removed and this new one put up in its place. It’s hopefully shorter (good for you folks that are dissuaded by a wall of text) and more to the point, though most pointers in it remain the same.

What I look for is a permanent home. I want to join a corp and never see a single reason to leave it. OFC, there is no such thing as a ‘perfect’ corp, but here’s what I’d love to see, in no special order: (This is a ‘would like to see’ list rather than a ‘must have’ list)

- High activity, hopefully 60% of corp or more online at most times, and active.

- A RL -> EVE understanding.

- Fighting spirit. A corp that relishes combat and will fight (hopefully with good, effective methods) even a heavily outnumbered fight.

- A lack of nano-gangs, can’t stand them.

- Comradery and an understanding that all is equal regardless of SP/character age/profession/corp or alliance.

- Dedicated and competent, yet down-to-earth leaders/FC’s that don’t let power or position go to their heads.

- Skill, or a desire to gain/teach it. I know a few things, and I’m willing to share what I know. I’d like the same from my corp mates because I indeed don’t know everything.

- Maturity. Don’t matter how old you are, if you act like a 6year old, you act like a 6 year old.

- Sense of humour. I got it, and it would be nice if my corp had the ability to laugh at times too.

- Good EURO/US coverage. I’m EURO timezone but sometimes drag it on into the night and thus touch up on the US times, would be nice to see people in corp even then.

- A strict no-smack policy would be very nice even though I myself feel tempted to do so at times; I work to restrain myself. I DON’T smack. I’d like it if my corp didn’t either.

- Freedom of character. I don’t want people to dictate what I skill, fly and how to fit what I’ve been dictated to fly, even though I will follow corp advice and needs. If a BS is needed I’ll bring it. Just don’t order me to skill for Dreads yet; I’ve not planned that for a good while yet…

- NO scamming, griefing or macroing of any kind please. I HATE macro-bots, and low-time scum that enjoys swindling their fellow players in deals etc. Contrary to the above this one IS a demand.

- Industrial abilities/needs. I have a heavily industrial specialized alt and would love to use her to further my corp’s needs.

- Voice coms. I have a nice headset with a working mic, and have TS and Ventrillo installed. The use of voice communications is alpha and omega for a smooth op and a huge pluss in day-to-day chatting.

- A home in 0.0/low sec would be preferred over high sec, brings more interest to the day if you got to watch your back from time to time.

- Lastly, I’d love to avoid the great war; at least as a main player/participant. I Despise BoB as a faction with a passion and the goons leave an ugly taste in my mouth. I got nothing against individual players from either faction but the actions of the many colour the groups.

Okay, that was my list of directives. As stated you don’t HAVE to pass on all these but the more the better, ofc.

Having listed what I’d love to see here is a list of what I can offer and what I might be interested in trying. Again, no special order:

- A 22 years old, (hopefully) mature and down-to-earth male player.

- An understanding that RL-> EVE. I have stuff to do at times despite spending a lot of time online and will not hold it against anyone that does the same.

- A thirst for battle bordering on adrenaline addiction. I am not suicidal nor am I stupid, but I will fight if the plan is good and if there is hope of victory. Heck, sometimes I fight even if there is no hope, if my comrades are with me. I stand by my mates. Always.

- Character-wise, a 2.5+ years old toon with 27 mill SP who is heavily specialized in PVP. This is a diverse list of abilities as BB is sort of a ‘Jack of all Trades’ when it comes to PVP and a few other abilities.

- PVP-wise: A vast array of T2 ship skills including AF, inty, HAC, HIC, Dictor, EAS, covert ops, bombers, and recons. Command ships follows as I’m working my way towards an Eos/Astarte as we speak.Twisted Evil

- PVP-wise: A vast array of T2 gear including T2 guns; very varied in size and type. T2 missile launchers. Not much here yet but I’m constantly working to improve myself in most areas. T2 tanking gear, including Armour and a bit of shield gear. Engineering skills are good, as are drones. I’m a drone-man and Love to use them in battle, got skills for a vast array of different types and sizes. Most support skills are high-up though few (bar the most useful ones) are at 5. Most are 4.

- Beyond PVP I can haul, salvage, mine with T2 lasers, (Shocked) and produce most T1 at a rather nice level. These skills are a remnant from my n00b days and I’ve found them quite useful at times of need. My alt has currently taken over all of these bar salvaging, though that too, will come one day.

Finally, there is a last part for me to type. In all my time in EVE I’ve done a lot of things, bar 3 distinct areas of operation.

I’ve never been a mercenary, I’ve never Role played in any hard-core way, and I’ve been strictly anti-pirate up until now. Recently I’ve been thinking over my EVE-life (A LOT) and realized that under the current system of security rating being an effective anti-pirate is next to impossible. I have a near-constant negative security rating due to killing other supposed ‘pirates’ that have yet to gain outlaw-status, not all of them had a global timer. I’ve also hunted high-security-rated members of known pirate corps (guilty by association) and the results are viewed in my sec status.

I grow tired of being referred to as a pirate while I aimed to be the totally opposite, so until CCP manage to make anti-piracy a real profession or ability in this game, (If ever) I’ll say my good-byes to that line of operation starting NOW.

As a result, this opens of the path of a pirate for me, so any proficient pirate or semi-pirate corp out there just became possible new homes. (Boy am I going to get FLAMED by a bucket-load of people now…Mad)

That was all, I think. This will be divided over two posts and the previous 3rd post will be cleaned, I thank all those that bothered to read my wall of text and reply until now. Thank you for those offers and keep them coming, I will spend my time well and chose wisely, I hope.

I don't think I could adequately address all your concerns, except to say that we meet the vast majority of them. The core players have been together for almost three years, we all left the Great War because it was boring, and we have quite the collegiate corporate environment.

Let me hit you with some spam:

A bit about us: we're a motley assortment of about 40 ex-BoB/ex-MC/ex-0utbreak players, averaging about 40m SPs, that got bored with POS warfare and sovereignty disputes and moved back to Empire to do some good old fashion pew pew. We're competent, laid-back and pretty nice guys.

We're interested in recruiting another ten players to join us in our merry adventures.

If this sounds interesting to you, please get in touch with me, Tomski Ruslav, RichThugster, Deja Thoris or Marovinchian in-game, or just join our public channel, Invicta-Public.

Hey BB,

Well, we're not exactly covered well in the US timezone. We do have a Dutch member who works during the evenings and tends to play until the early hours, but for the rest it's (at least at this time) rather light on the late night coverage.

We're comrades in every way, I'm part of a group that knows each other in real life (often leading to some funny pictures mocking some of them), the rest of the corp fits in nicely. We like to know our members, there simply isn't much fun in playing if you're playing with John Does, really.

We like to work as a group and indeed, there is no place for nanos in decent teamwork. Remote repairing is our game, just like reconnaissance and coordinated EW.

As far as fighting spirit. Well. I'm more inclinced to point at our losses than our kills as it illustrates nicely that we don't exactly give up ;)

We condone piracy, sorry. It's up to the members to engage in such activities or not. All we keep them on a short leash for is for their security ratings. Macros are quite obviously not allowed, same with blatant scams.

Anyway, if you're interested, just have a look on our website at www.EVE-Exiled.org or see our recruitment thread elsewhere. Somewhere. Erm, just look at my forum history or something Embarassed

Good luck in finding the corp of your dreams either way bud :)

Thanks, sounds like a good offer, to just about anyone.

However, I can allready see a line of things that would be counter-productive to my enjoyment of your corp. (low EU-timezone, piracy tendecies etc.)

Thanks for the offer, and the subsequent bump, but I'm afraid I'll have to turn your offer down. Good luck with your reqruitment though! Smile

Hi BloodBird.

We are starting a major recruiting drive, you mentioned you haven't tried mercenary work, and maybe interested.

I know you may not be able to see past the Tortuga/ MC/ BoB yaddayadda, but if you can, mail me (0mbey@0mbeve.c0.uk - replace zeros with 'o'), what I have to say may be of interest. We tick the boxes of pretty much all of your requirements.

I say mail, because i'll be on the test server later, or at work until then!

Well maybe you would like a chat about the corp I am in, its a freelancing corp with a mature and friendly ethos.

I am not a particularly old char and I joined FUN as my first corp about 9 months back and moved out to their 0.0 home pretty much imediately. I found myself ganging with vets from 03 and other relatively new folks, helpful, fun to be in corp with. They helped me out and whatever I choose to get involved in there was always some friendly advice and folks willing to help. And there's always a good bunch online.

We do the whole shebang, pvp, industry, market stuff and have a lot of fun, mainly Euro TZ but we have a bunch of US/NA players also. Anything you might want to indulge in, chances are we have folks who will freely help you out.

We dont roll in nano gangs, and we do make hard targets. In FUN no-one is required to pvp, under any circumstances. And RL obviously comes first.

The corp has no tax and we require nothing from you, you are free to set your own level of involvement and no one will pressure you.
If you are doing your own thing in Empire or solo hunting ratters in 0.0 there isn't anybody who will be hassling you to 'X up' or 'get on vent'

As for PVP, the bulk of us live in syndicate, where we have mainted a presence for the past 14 months and we have reds visiting every day, when we dont go visiting them.
So plenty of fun, if you fancy getting involved in it. We have Vent and TS and can use whatever depending on the situation.

If you fancy a go at it, drop onto our recruitment channel FUN-Recruiting and have a chat, maybe you can come on out and test the waters, see what you think. Either way best of luck in your search for a new home.

BloodBird,
If you think you might like to try it...we are a small corp, with big goals. I've been in the eve part you spoke of in your post above. Even did the pirate thing. But decided to settle down and enjoy a nice group of friends. We are mainly an industrial corp but a couple of us are still pvp'ers at heart. We have goals for 0.0 and our worth is growing quickly. We also have the connections and friends to settle just about anywhere in 0.0 if we choose to go that path. Right now we have some big idea's and arent afraid to try em. We're training a few more special skills to get in a grove. Our ideas seem pretty fun and we're gonna give em a go. If you want to try something new and different stop in our public chat JUMBO and get to know everyone. We could really use any industrial alts you may have. We have TS and dont require forums. Join our channel and lets talk.

[UPDATED 05.03.08]Right, time to adress some posts here:

Emnity Preston, Blue Max, Zikka, Johho Bulon, Dakaris Zulu, nakKEDK, Ombey, Eric Yu, Neo Corricon, Sean Drake, Alex Sarrussi, Randal Zentier, Zanphear, Highsight and Domania.

Your corporations sounds interesting, if one desires 0.0 living and operation. While I have lived in 0.0 ALOT and have indeed enjoyed it, I tire of the huge blob vs blob wars fought in many areas and I fully expect, that while it would be interesting seeing new people and perhaps living in a new place, I might also tire of the politics very soon.

I find it unlikely I'll join your alliance(s), or any of the ones mentioned below, for the reasons stated above and a few reasons individual to the various factions below.

All of these alliances have granted me an offer(inpo):

Cosmic Anomalies
Axiom Empire
Firmus Ixion
Intrepid crossing
Insurgency
Pure
Ministry of Amarr Secret Service
KIA Alliance
Triumvirate
Space weaponry and trade
Unaffiliated
Frontal Impact
Hydra Alliance
Phalanx Alliance
SMASH Alliance
ROADKILL
The Cyrene Initiative
Bionic Dawn
Black Star Alliance
Destiny

All of these have offered me a place in one of their corporations, (Thank you very much) some (Think it was ROADKILL and another one...) even granted me offers from diffrent corporations.

The reasons I will *MOST LIKELY* not join you are stated above, and a few of you I got even more reasons not to join. These are varied, some are minor. Some are major.

Yes, I know, I'm a picky bastard. But if I'm not happy where I am It won't last long and then the point of joining will go away.

If I don't find any faction that seems like the right choice I might end up taking my pick out of all the above, making a compromise to join the one that seems the better option. Don't worry, I might join you yet, just don't COUNT on that I will, you might be dissapointed.

I'm looking into a few smaller factions, like merc corps and the like. I'm also considering some RP'ing corps/alliances. A few smaller, but capable PVP corporations are also in my spotlight.

[UPDATE] I've looked into a few merc corps and seen a few that are really tempting. I've also sighted a RP'ing corp that sounds like it might be alot of fun joining, simply for RP'ing hillarity and PVP action for a 'cause'. I'll be observing a bit more and try to get in talks with folks whose corp/alliance seems interesting. This tread will stay up for at least a couple more days as a result.

Again, thank you all for the offers. It's great knowing one's skill and knowledge is desired, gives one options. I got no clue yet where I will go, though some places are more tempting than others.

Hi Bloodbird,
We certainly can't cover all of your diverse and as you say "picky" Laughing reasons but we're a fairly relaxed and aimiable corp in an alliance with a similar attitude. We are currently recruiting PvPers and would be more than will to have a chat regarding a mutual trial basis with no pre-reqs. Red Dwarf Mining Corporation are currently based in Syndicate and looking to greatly expand our PvP operations. Certainly joining us would provide the challenge that you seem to want. Look forward to hearing from you if you're interested. Please contact via e-mail or in game convo.
