Im thinking of trying some pvp with a thorax cruiser, will this work?

No, it's a terrible fit.
You miss all the ship boni by fitting an afterburner and only two guns!
There is a reason why this ship is easy to set up, it's a cookie cutter job. Check the millions of other posts with fits and choose one you can use. |

Horrible setup. You're missing the whole point of the Thorax-5 medium blasters, an MWD, and at least one or two damage mods. The setup you described would do somewhat better on the Vexor, but not by much (you still need to swap AB for MWD).
Go use the search function and come up with not a few Thorax setups. |

5 vespa ecm drones.

5 Vespa x 1.5strength = 7.5
A cruiser have about 20 in strength, how can they do something then?

Gankarax  5x neutron blaster II mwd-scram-web 3x magnetic field stabilizer - damagecontrol - reactor control plus either 5 ecm drones or some hammer IIs :) pretty much instapops most things in belts :D Thats PURE GANK :) no tank at all whatsoever it REALLLy has alot of dps. Anyway i wouldnt bother tanking a rax mang i have cruiser 5 also :) You could go with a plated Ion II setup which someone said already just dont fit a rep. |

This. Requires a RCU II, though, if I remember correctly. It's an awesome setup, you only die if things look at you bad  |

Actually it looks like the average cruiser has about 13-15, only the a few EWAR boats have 20. Chance to jam is 1-(1-1.5/15)^5 ~ 41% which is more than just a little annoying. |
