I know I am probably going to get a warning for posting something from a locked thread, but I probably posted it in the wrong place anyway.

I know that forum fighting is probably far more impressive to the casual gamer, mostly because it is the only insight they have in to what is happening in the big battles in low sec space.

Unfortunately the forum warriors almost always drag what could be an interesting set of reports in to a smack slagging match, and the 'facts' become just an excuse to trade insults.

In an attempt to shed some light on what actually happened during F-E defence of their claimed space I posted the following.

Quote:
Ok, I am getting pretty tired of the endless smack about the action around F-E space.

I am going to clear this up as best I can, although I know my opinion will be flamed as biased.

In the early stages m0o were seen to be bringing a fleet to Obe through empire space, using players to ferry those ships.
At this point F-E was quite excited, we were able to see m0o were gathering a reasonable fleet and we were going to see some action soon.
F-E recalled its forces and began to run a defence fleet in p3en, ready to await the m0o attack. At this time it was also noted that Evolution forces were moving down towards p3en from Venal.
We prepared ourselves for an attack on two fronts, but unfortunately nothing came of it.
It was becoming apparent that our strength in numbers was putting the enemy fleets off. Now, m0o seem to think that is somehow unfair, that we were stacking the odds because we were scared. We did not choose this war, and it is not our job to ensure the enemy has a big enough force to fight it.

Slowly we became bored and so we started attacking m0o pilots around the stations in Obe, a risky strategy, but ultimately rewarding.

Shortly afterwards the tables were turned. Whilst low on numbers and with most of our pilots logging on in Obe, m0o had adopted our station lock down tactic. A few of F-E were already in space, scouting the stations and calling opportunities to undock. M0o moved their forces to p3en, camping the Obe gate. As our forces increased and were able to undock we decided to take the battle to m0o, even though jumping in to a camped system is tactically not always the smartest move.

We jumped our fleet in and took down two battleships before the enemy fleet retreated.

Most of the smack has taken place on the forums, and unfortunately it has hidden what was actually a pretty reasonable engagement for both sides.

I, and I know others from F-E, had reasonable conversations with most of the people from m0o - the majority of the 'smack' which makes the whole encounter seem so unsavoury has happened between just a very few people from each side.

Now, as it stands this is my clearest understanding of the facts based only on what I saw. Now I confess my report may be seen as being biased, and I accept that, but at least it is smack free and honest (ie, it is how I believe it happened based on my perception of events)

As you can see, no-one got omfgpwn'd - the successful defence lead to the attacker moving to find easier targets, as would be expected.

F-E did end up with a positive kill ratio, but the enemy forces were not decimated, they decided a tactical retreat was the best course of action

basically, in the day there was nothing for us to do because your small. when you was in your prime time you just sat in OBE in nice safe empire building a blob until it was unplayable for us then attacked. gg you got a few kills

Stutty, that wasn't a very constructive reply.
As there is no station in p3en (apart from the p3en mart retail complex - home to the smart shopper), Obe is the obvious place to log out. People from all sides used it as a place to do so, I can't really see your point.

If you have any insightful facts to relay about the confilct I would be delighted to hear them, otherwise kindly refrain from posting.

This is the reason i cant understand why FE joined the curse alliance. FE manage to hold of combined EVOL/m0o forces without any "mainland" Curse support, and manage to outkill them in the process. Despite this FE victory CA are already as a whole down in BSs to evol/m0o.

I dont see what FE get out of being in Curse. They certainly dont need them for ship/military forces, they already have access to 0.0 and a region to protect. Doesnt make sense to me. But then who am I to question the will of the emperor?

(Not flaming trolling/genuinely curious)

the only reason they was positive was because we was there like one day, we made some mistakes ( happens to everyone me more offten then most people :P ) they just blobbed thats it, and to quote the mighty havocide

"we dont blob" Wink

the other reason was they could gather forces in complete safty in obe before doing anything. but cred to them it worked well. But like i say we was half pulling out of venal / leaving small force in obe Wink

CA also have lots of people struggling to make up for their past. We share a bond in that way. And seeing how they are treated by your corp and other people whos bloodlust shows no end.. we felt we should help each other.

I just hope that someday the past can be forgotten. We wish noone any ill Sad

If you would be kind enough to pay reparations to all those poor pilots on who's hard work your un-holy alliance is formed then I'm sure the pure and righteous within Eve will gladly put down their arms and pick up ploughshares. Together we will march hand in hand with you into a bright tomorrow where we shall only know love and peace. The Lions shall lay down with the lambs (I always thought this was a bit dodge myself) and we will soar with high spirits lifted upon the thermals of love we hold for one another.

On the other hand ….

Peace and Love

And that was it for this thread
Sorry guys, but the thread starter was right from the start about replying to a locked thread.
I watched it for a while to give it a chance, but the flaming and baiting for flames has started once again.
