Farewell to RISE and best of luck (read: best wishes for better decision-making in the future) to its previous member corps, some of whom have been friends in the past.
I went from being happy about seeing RISE form and the enjoyed the early reports of their successes and willingness to fight to being rather disgusted when they chose to become BoB renters in Feythabolis. It was, in my view, about as poor a choice as they could possibly have made and frankly, I think we all see that born out in the results of their operations since that fateful decision. To compound that decision by making another (running off to hide in Fountain rather than shaking themselves and coming correct after they left Feyth was just silly. Nothing good could come of that kind of thinking and indeed, nothing did.
In their history, I think they did indeed give it their best up to a point. There's only so much an alliance can do with circumstances under which they operated for a good portion of their history. The problem lay in their reasons for doing it--- who and what they were fighting for.
It seems things are as they should be. RISE is dead. It should be dead.
Again...better luck to the member corps in their future endevours. |

Farewell RISE, I had some great times with you. Some great battles...well decent battles as Goons or KoS really just showed as punching bags during that time. The inherent flaw in the RISE structure though was the fact that it was a US pvp alliance being led by french corporations. I shall never forget Coolgamer's french little voice screaming "PoS up! We will never win this battle, PoS up you guys!" when we had equal numbers and superior ships and alot of americans wanting a fight. Alas RISE had so much potential, and a good run, and alot of good people. |

It is better to die on your feet (in Cloud Ring) than live on your knees (in RIT). Sadly RISE chose RIT, now they have died anyway, on their knees. |
