Apparently this poor neglected WoW widow needs help from facebook users.

She's gotten her beloved WoW-addicted boyfriend to agree to quit WoW if 10,000 poeple signup to her group.

http://www.facebook.com/group.php?gid=2208630487

Let's help her, and hopefully give her an early Christmas present by showing her that the Eve MMORPG community care about family values, unlike those nasty WoW players, by adding your name to the growing group that is taking a stand and saying an emphatic NO to WOW.

Make it happen. For her. For him. For Christmas.

You know you want to.

I don't really care about the girl, she should obviously just divorce her husband and get herself a real man, one that plays EVE and knows (and appreciates) a woman's vagina.

EDIT: But one less WoW player cannot be bad for the world.

You say that, but I knew an EVE player that preferred EVE to sex with his missus.

Can't say I blame him Razz

You do realize you've just given the AFK haulers a VERY valid argument to fight for their right to take their hands off the keyboard while online.

As long as the rest of us have the right to suicide gank him, then I have no problem with that.

Does this mean I'll never get my keyboard shortcuts back? I should just cut off my left hand and give it to my Yakuza bookie charity.

Nothing wrong with wow, being a complete addict and having no control over it is however, quite pathetic, and no, I won't 'help'. Obviously his wife isn't very interesting if he prefers wow.

What kind of tool neglects sex for a game? Much less World of Warcraft? Only reason I'm here is because I don't have the luxery of that choice. Crying or Very sad

So let me get this straight...

The woman wants her "online amalgam of persons who are completely inept at functioning in society" to convince her boyfriend to stop playing WoW (which, in turn, is also an amalgam of persons who are completely inept at functioning in society)?

Tell me why anyone capable of rational thought would not see this as being ridiculously hypocritical?

Because people see a lack of self control with respect to a game as a character flaw, where as a lack of self control on things that appear to enhance ones social life is only normal; be they cellphones, blackberries, etc. Go back 30 years and show some people those individuals you see driving with that cellphone glued to their ear, I'm sure someone would get lynched for such recklessness back then.
