Can someone confirm this?
If its true we could be seeing return to caldari online, what with ecm boats getting buffed, all the other ewar getting nerfed to the stoneage, turrets taking a hit from the TC nerf and snipers taking a hit from the combined TC/SB nerf.
And now a rumored shield tanking buff.
Caldari are coming up shining of roses. |

Since we can't tackle and tank a target as effectively as an armor tanker I can see where we are in such a huge advantage. |

Well if this is the case then atleast one of my ships didn't get hit so badly with the nerfbat.
My Claymore with an X-Large Shield Booster II and 2x Shield Booster Amplifier II's
More HP/s the better.
Now I only need to train command ships to 5 so that I get that last little bit more, +7.5% could save my life and without faction fits and hi-grade implants theres nothing else I can do to increase it. |

You could possibly read the decription on the claymore and realise the boost bonus comes from the BC skill level not command ships so its 37.5% straight off and wont change whatever your level of command ships |

Lol true enough, I forgot that the claymore had two +7.5% bonuses, one to boosters the other to tracking, and mmm tracking to turrets, can I be assed? I guess I will have to if I want to use arties after the tracking computer nerf, then again I never did fit a TC on the claymore. Still guess it can't hurt. But Yes "Woot!!!" All I need is hi-grade crystals and some faction. ;) |

Edited by: Jimbob McKracken on 04/11/2007 02:29:09 I think you armor tanking guys forget that if caldari ships want to lock anything without taking a week they'll have to use sensor boosters which are mid slot items which ofcourse affect your tank - now that sensor boosters are half as effective we need to fit twice as many - yeah I know there is scripts but you still need twice the amount to get the current level of effectiveness.
Thats a problem for a shield tanked sniper, not so much for an armor tanked one. |

As are tracking computers, so if turret users want to get the same tracking + range they need more mid slots now too..... |

Mega is sooo last patch. Hype is much better, cheaper (doesn't need faction to fit it), and more cap efficient. These days tanks are just too strong and peak DPS tanked too high for a Bthron to be really worthwhile. If you don't fit faction stuff, you're not going to get the absolute most dps out of your setup, plus your tank will really suffer, as you have to drop down from dc2/t2 eanm + resists down to just t2 adaptive membranes and lesser DCs, so your resists just end up being crap. |

Most likely yes but without the ability to get on the test server i would post screen shots. but with my current skills with battleship V and 1 booster amp i can get 700+ with the best names im think 850 or so around there with tech II if the buff is there. |

One other important question is about all other stats on the boosters, did they in any way change duration and/or activation cost? |

Armor tanking is already way superior to shield tanking (I rarely fly anything that shield tanks because of it, I'm not whining cause I fly Caldari) due to hp/cap and the use of midslots in an ewar fighting environment.
However, I personally believe the damp nerf is bring armor tankers a bit more in line (Reducing some of the extreme requirements for midslots) as well as the sensor booster nerf taking away as much of an advantage (You may not need one anymore since your enemy doesnt gain that much advantage off them.
I feel as in Gallente is getting nerfed fairly hard in this patch, as they were nerfed into being pretty generic with the initial release of revelations (Rigs aid a gallente as well, however it WAS an overall nerf to Gal effectiveness). Are these nerfs unnecessary? Not really. I approve of them in a lot of ways, though I definitely know how people feel when their favorite ship gets nerfed into oblivion (Sorry Amarr).
As a point I'd like to make though to the megathron imbalance thread hijackers, I want everyone to go fly a ship for a month that is useless closer than 5km and further than 10km without the speed to maintain it. I know quite a bit of the whining I see are from people in FFA1 on SiSi who get killed by a Hyperion. Yes, a Hyp tanks well. Yes, a Hyp does a lot of damage. No, it wont always land on you at 0 because of waypoints, no they won't always cost 50,000isk to buy and fit with rigs boosters faction implants and whatever nonsensical stuff people use on SiSi to create such a stigma. As far as in Tranq goes... get further than 10km from them and stay there? Past 10km Throns / Hyps don't really do more damage than anyone else and usually have a weaker tank. (Conceptual range via non-overheated webs and effective range of 10km using faction antimatter. Figures for 10-20km damage via null. Anything beyond that... Shoot his drones?) |

Edited by: Sky Marshal on 04/11/2007 16:49:41In reality, there are some BUFF and some NERF : - All T1 (pure T1) are boosted :) - All C5-L are nerfed :( (and probably all named) T1 have a boost : Small/Medium/Large/X-Large = +3/+8/+20/+50, so +1.5/s / +2.6/s / +5/s / +10/s C5-L don't have this luck. They give more HP, but require more time (same amount of time than pure T1). Before (per activation) : (Time) 1.6s/2.4s/3.2s/4s, (HP/s) 15 / 30 / 60 / 120 Now (per activation) : (Time) 2s/3s/4s/5s, (HP/s) 13.5 / 27 / 54 / 108 So -1.5 / -3 / -6 / -12, same if they give more hp... and as players avoid pure T1, this is a nerf. Or : How make a nerf a buff for the eye's player... At least, C5-L require less energy because the time per activation is longer for the same amount of capacitor (now that I wrote it, CCP will change it pff). Finaly, if T2 was boosted to reinforce our chances against armor tanking, it would be good, but not This is not an big nerf, but a bad day for Caldari :( I use only C5-L (easily fitted and nearly same efficiency than T2)... I would prefer a boost of T2 Shield Booster to make them more attractive than best named, instead of a nerf, but I forgot that CCP only know nerfing, no boosting. |
