Just a note: this problem is far more widespread than it seems. In my guild, more than 2/3 are affected and even those who can play have no one to play with.

I can connect on 3724 but the problem persists I have informed the GM and i'm waiting for a response at least on the bright side we have an active petition with a GM now thats trying to resolve the problem Very Happy

I just canceling all my subscriptions now, we will see maybe if more people will do this same they speed up work on bug(run time error), this is take too long I’m waiting 8 days now, still cant play , cant even run game (massage showing on screen : The connection to the server was closed.), , Thank you CCP …….., that was huge pleasure to play eve until you broke connection to your server…………..ugh

11 days for me without being able to stay on for more then 5 minutes Very Happy my subscription runs out in the middle of December I hope its fixed by then or I won't be renewing my accounts

I have canceled one of my accounts already, the other two are up in about 3 days and i won't renewing them, there does not seem much point if this is the level of service you get when u have a problem with the game.

My partner has the same problem, and in fact there 2 funny bits that might be interesting (we're in a private wireless network, DSL internet access):

- I never get disconnected, while it happens to him 2 to 3 times per hour (we're both using Windows XP)

- I am not 100% sure of this, but it only seems to happen when I'm connected myself. When he's alone on EVE he can play just fine. (Obviously there is absolutely no difference in terms of network settings between our machines. We even have the same wireless adapter)

The lack of official announcements is getting annoying though,I know they said its a known bug their working on it but the only said that to one player even with the new trinity upgrade i'm sure they have a hundred and one things to do but thats no excuse keeping hundreds if not thousands of players in the dark about the cause of it.

We won't even be compensated for our lost time I personally don't mind if theres a bug and I can't play for 3-4 days but its nearly 2 weeks,the money to pay for 1 account ok thats not to bad but what if someone had 3? That adds up to a fair bit for something you can't even play.

Come on CCP at least officially acknowledge the problem through an announcement or through the forums,at least then we'll know were not going to be left in the dark.

incase you havent solved your problem, this is due to a directx problem. try completely uninstalling directx, then reinstall it. this should fix the issue. i know its a pain in the rear. but it worked for me when i have ad this problem.

If you are late one day with your payment CCP won't let you play EVE
I'am paying for 3 accounts something like 45e/month and I did not play Eve longer than 5 min since 13th.of November.
It is plenty of other MMORPG games and Iam seriously think to cancel my 3 accounts.

This game atm caused nothing but disaster.

I'm gonna cancel my account as well.
CCP thinks they can afford to disrespect us because they have got something like 35k of players.
But most of them have 3-4 accounts
So if 100 people cancel their acc. is like a 300-400 players.
And rumours about disrespectfull treatment will spread throughout the fk Solar System

Cancelling subscriptions - good idea but in addition we should start to make bad PR to CCP. I mean call/write to all serious gaming magazines and online services in the world. Maybe when they'll start to write nice "things" about CCPs service ( i should say LACK of service ), how did they treat their long time customers, maybe when CCP will finally finish "Kali 3" but before that - *oops!*, no new subscriptions, less income from those existing, maybe then they will think about us. What more? Personally i've send CCPs EVE EULA to few of my friends that they are lawyers and i'll try to know:

1. if there are any chances to get a compensation from CCP
2. and if so according to which law I can set up action for damages
3. maybe there is a chance to engage BEUC (European Consumers' Organisation) into this case

We should stop "crying" for help to CCP cause they are continuously showing us that they don't care bout us (with all due respect to ISD volunteers) and teach em a lesson that such disrespect to customers doesn't pay!

We should create one complain email, put on forum, and email addresses to best gaming magazines on world , and every one who has problem with this runtime error can just “ctlr c” and “ctrl v” , that will speed up all process. Any volunteer to create complain …. And please put on forum email addresses to best magazines in your countries we will create list and send mails to all of them Twisted Evil

f**k the Trinity if i can't stay logged and i think our problems don't have high priority
about PR ....
my friend was on trial - and he will not buy not after he got hit by dc
if i cancel i will stay on dark side too
i think it is CCP way of fighting lag Rolling Eyes

I got through the two weeks of free play without a glitch. The first day of paying the system started dropping off every three minutes. I have tried reloading the game from scratch, reduced audio acceleration to 0, and dropped the firewall protection all to no avail. I thought it was only me until I found this forum.

If a user is experiencing difficulties connecting to our default port for Tranquility, you may now have the option to use port 3724. We recommend this port only be used if you are not able to connect to port 26000. Since this is not the official EVE port, support for connection issues will be limited.

In order to use port 3724, it will be necessary to open your C:\Documents and Settings\%USERNAME%\Local Settings\Application Data\CCP\EVE\settings folder if you use XP or C:\Users\%USERNAME%\AppData\Local\CCP\EVE\settings if you use VISTA and edit the PREFS.INI file. Please change the networkAdvanced=0 to networkAdvanced=1. You will notice that the Eve logon screen will now have a PORT option. Please type in 3724 into the box and connect as normal.

If this works for anyone, please post your feedback here so others may try.

Hey Garik, unfortunately i tried this something about ... 1 week ago, and it's no use. Same disconnects as on official 26000 port.

any other ideas? maybe official ccp statement? or there is still "evrything is ok with eve" ?

Yes I agree with you Frigg and also like Yamprash idea.
I have sent 3 petition's of every alt I have so it is 9 all together.
I rang to CCP also but they didn't want to put me through Technician and lady who I spoke to said:You have to push CCP by petition....So in that point conversation basicly ended.I would really appreciate if someone would give me links to mentioned PC game magazines.I'm gonna write many complaints against CCP as I can.

I would like say thank you to all volunteer's who tryied solve our problem more than CCP did.

Thanks Frigg for your help and your lawyers help.
I hope we can go through CCP and our disconnect problem if we work together

50 of us have got the same problem.but I did count only since 13.11.07 and only from this forum:Conection to server lost..If I spelled names incorrectly Iam very sorry about it.

I think, there is similar problem in Tabula Rasa MMO game. Frequent disconnects from 13th of November using specific providers. That VPN workaround solved problem for my friends in TR.
