In the time I've been part of Aurora I've had an amazing time helping with many events that I have thoroughly enjoyed. Much <3 and thanks to the producers, senior producers and leads for making it happen and to actors and all for everything.

Not to forget, thankyou to you guys who we ran events for. You made it all worthwhile, even if you don't know the difference between teal and blue :) Thankyou to each and every single person who participated in an event. They were for you guys, and it was a pleasure to be part of it.

As many of the guys and gals I've had the pleasure of working with have already said, do not let RP die. Please! As players we must and we will keep it going. It is part of Eve and part of what makes this game what it is. Don't let it die!

Oh, and GALEN FOR EMPEROR!

Obviously no one outside of ISD knows exactly how all this went down or how it was presented to them, but I REALLY hope CCP has not alienated their volunteers. When people care so much to put up with so much **** like the mods/ISD team do, ****ting all over them would be a sign of the worst kind of corporate apathy. That being said, something obviously needed to change with the forums, as they are completely out of control lately. So I hope whatever ends up happening makes this a better place to hang out, or more and more people will just find other communities in which to discuss eve.

Well thanks to the volunteers for all the events you put on.
You did a very good job for being volunteers working with limited options for how your events were allowed to effect the game.

I just really hope CCP doesn't think that the players in EVE will be entertained by reading about the struggles of factions in EVE yet knowing that nothing ingame ever happened to support that piece of fiction.
That just seems really lame.

I hope everything works out here but it sounds like EVE could be a lot less entertaining without the volunteer teams...

Can we have reinsurance please that the RP side of Eve won't fade away with the withdrawal of Aurora team ?

We founded our corp entirely on that purpose. Should we dismantle it now ?

RP will never fade so long as there are players willing to RP. Without players and corporations who RP on various levels in different ways, AURORA would not have been able to be as good as it was. Remember, it's the players that make EVE what it is.

EVE(RP) never fades.Wink

Still sad about this. I will of course, look foward to whatever restructuring is going on with CRC. But I am going to miss AURORA very much. Especially as someone interested in joining. Player-run events are great, and player rping and all that. But AURORA was just able to have the tools to give it the occasional extra "Oomph".

Unfortunately, whilst this is way too blunt to put it, I have to say a lot of people feel the same way.

AURORA will be missed. Just get us a better engine CCP, or at least something to move the car with.

And no, not a donkey pulling the car. We dont like animals...

To ISD staff:
Its been a great pleasure watching (and at one time, participating) in RP events, and even in helping the newbies in Rookie Help so many months ago. I can see how much fun and yet, hard work it is, and I greatly appreciate it all.

I just wish more could be done to alleviate the worries of many, like myself.

This is the first and only post I will ever make on this forum.

I met a group of amazing people in my short time at Aurora. From the first second I talked to them it was clear this was a group of incredibly clever, intelligent people. I feel CCP is making a mistake by letting so much talent go. There is very little in the way of details for anyone as to the future of events and forum moderation. I think I would speak for most or all of Aurora when I say we'd feel a lot better knowing there was a solid plan for the future of our work.

I'm astounded by the quality of people the program has attracted, and the quality of work they put out. Truly an honor and a privilege to have been able to act with such a wonderful group.

Thanks to Aurora. Actors, producers, and leads. Thanks to Galen for heading up this wonderful division.

It is a sad day. Do not be misled into thinking that we all leave with joyous hearts and harmonious hymns. An immense amount of work was done by our teams. Thousands of hours of toil and labor to bring to fruition the very tools and resources we used to fulfill our charters. But all things change.

To you guys in aurora, we were the best that ever was, and probably ever will be.

For the legacy

Do not go gentle into that good night,
Old age should burn and rave at close of day;
Rage, rage against the dying of the light.

Though wise men at their end know dark is right,
Because their words had forked no lightning they
Do not go gentle into that good night.

Good men, the last wave by, crying how bright
Their frail deeds might have danced in a green bay,
Rage, rage against the dying of the light.

Wild men who caught and sang the sun in flight,
And learn, too late, they grieved it on its way,
Do not go gentle into that good night.

Grave men, near death, who see with blinding sight
Blind eyes could blaze like meteors and be gay,
Rage, rage against the dying of the light.

And you, my father, there on the sad height,
Curse, bless, me now with your fierce tears, I pray.
Do not go gentle into that good night.
Rage, rage against the dying of the light.

For me, I have found a new light and a new home in ISD.

To those who have chosen to move on, I will miss you. I am thankful for every second spent with each of you.

Let us move forward with nothing but fondness in our hearts for the time behind us and hope for what lies ahead as we strive to realise our dreams.

It has been a privilege and an honour to serve you as part of CRC.

Onwards...

Just wondering... is there a plan in the works to replace the volunteers who have been "fired" with a similar number of paid workers? Why not?

Just read that several of those who worked in Interstellar Correspondents, are now going to "[work] more closely with the staff of EVE TV." EVE TV is taking over the volunteer universe :(
