I'd put up a WTB for "Special Dev Drugs", but I can't, cause the forum is locked. |

Erm, so Chribba hosts now officially the Eve-Online forums?
Can I petition characters if they don't follow CCP rules there? Will this forum be watched by CCP so that they can stay in contact with the playerbase? What about ISK - realworld item/service offers there, does CCP care?
Just a few questions that quickly come to my mind. |

To be honest
Thanks for the idea..
Im not going to use your site, but if there is anyways you can implement evemon keys idea? So others cant use my name.
There are more reason then this.
Im afraid with all the facts I have "main one is CCP is just trying to lighten the load on there site" or "Forums"
Even if it doesn't work - It was a great attempt! |

I salute you - doing things and campaighning for them that CCP should have done from the start - inspiring. In total honesty - I propose a campaighn to elect Chibbra to be content maganger for new developments in Eve - aka make him a Dev and someone to come up with justified reasons why the man hasn't done enough to deserve it? On another note - whose idea was it to say "I know - lets delete the trade forums to make more room for new posts instead of purging dead topics for 1 year plus"??? |

On one hand, not having an "out of game" place to handle trades is a good idea. All trades should be possible from within the game itself, and it should be easier to track as in a forum. On the other hand, contracts is not "it" yet, not by a long shot. So not having a trade forum is a bad idea for the time being.
While I do appreciate your efforts Chribba, it's simply not worth your time and effort to do it. As somebody else already said it, it merely provides a "safety valve" for those that would otherwise whine 'till kingdom come, possibly (eventually) forcing a resolution out of CCP (either a reopening of the trade forums, or a major revamp of the contracts system). |

In mind? I guess my concern is my name in EVE. Or maybe even having trust in the person selling! Knowing which corp or alliance is posting on the forums. There are few other reasons. I guess the hardest part is CHANGE *And that my friend is that hardest part* I know a lot of people who could care less. "I just happen to be a person who does" If EVE could help Implement the API key so you are who you are in EVE, and not try to scam "maybe my trust would be on the positive side? I don't know why not - If set with PHP, and the command is looking for that account: It would open the database, then the CLOSE tag would end |

Edited by: Jezala on 21/08/2007 20:50:29 Honestly, I would discourage Chirbba from setting up a replacement trade forum. CCP needs to learn that EVE is played as much in game as it is out of game. The current contract system partially works because of the existence of the trade and sell forums. Cutting the communication lines and archived history for trading will blow up in their face and they will soon face the realization that the contract system is inadequate. |

Chribba, just make sure you check it every login, or x number of days so that people can still change their API key if it's been misused. |

Sorry (Im a bit confused) there are a lot of out of game tools design for EVE. A lot of designer put their heart and sole into this game. positive side would trading would still go on even if EVE was offline? that is one of the Pros Cons ATM I don't like that you can just sign in as anyone "Joe Smoe" - And everyone becomes anyone in my eyes! |

Silly idea tbh, now people will just use 3rd party forums or not at all. Some have said they have come up with this idea to stop this 'metagaming' aspect, Well if it true could they please apply it to all the other forums as well as information on the ships and modules, crime and punishment ect are a wealth of knowledge This will effect newcomers to the tarde aspect more, those already here will have a very big advantage over them. . eve-live it is then |

Well I can only agree that the usage of that site should be boycotted. The ones who stickied this are taking themself as to good to reply to the now 20 pages of disagreeing customers thread as a reply to the sellorders closage. |

Guttsey But there will be problems the biggest one will be pettions with apprently obviuous questions from noobs who aint got a clue(gotta love that learning curve ). But I do think that alot of trade will become localised and that noobs(and lazy/dumb people) are gonna get ripped of big time, so there will be lots more money to be made imo. Oh and that new forums gonna get ALOT of hits |

All good things to Chribba and his forums, but now the trades are no longer endorsed by CCP, and can't be trusted anymore.
I want to see the trade forums back. Selling services, buying motherships, trading faction ships. All are killed by the forum nerf, and I can't possibly spot the problem from which CCP decide to close a very popular forum. |

Edited by: Nathomos on 22/08/2007 00:01:10 So CCP takes down their official trade forums and advertises a player's site?
Umm, what the hell is this about?
Really stupid decision, absolutely no need for this to be done, contracts work well but they are not as comfortable to browse like using an actual web browser, I thought they were just a tool to complete trades or sell items over multiple regions in the auction system.
No offense to Chribba's site, but this is just a pointless action by CCP.
Edit: I know this isn't the end of the world, and I really like the other site, I just don't see why this has to be done in the first place. |

Everything in the sell orders forum as it stands is legit - you can scam someone for anything except a character or GTC - which still have their own forums... So nothing changes except the server really... API keys would be the best to do, but how much of a server load would it cause if the site becomes popular? |

Props for the 3rd party forum Chribba.
If the official WTB/WTS forums got closed to push players towards using the in-game system, why then was this thread made stick, promoting a 3rd party replica of the trading forums CCP are trying to guide us away from.
Its good that this is sticky, but the fact that it has been made so does suggest that there are some rifts within CCP's own team surrounding this issue. Or perhaps the company is unable to promote and implement a unified stance to its customer base? |

Why did you take down the most used forums in the game and sticky an outside site for our use instead?? If CCP truly believes that the forums shouldn't be there why are they encouraging these other sites that they have no control over but serve the same purpose with less security to be used by the players? Was this thought through at all? |

The site looks good Chribba, I'll donate some veldspar :) API key authentication, while a pain, would certainly remove the scam risk (but we all know that no one in the eve community would ever scam... right???? RIGHT?!?!?!?!)

Chribba, why the use of the rss-feed icon all over the place even though it does not point to any feeds? As always your work is awesome but please don't abuse an icon. Think of the poor icon!
Of course, you could be planning to add an rss-feed to it but just haven't had time to sort it yet, |
