Who tests them, monkeys? Have crashed twice so far today and numerous times during the day after. Sad part is this isn't even a patch. Thanks CCP for these great upgrades.

The day after today is tomorrow! Can I have this weekends lottery numbers please?

Personally I've never had a crash playing Eve in the last 2 years, that wasn't due to a problem at my end.

Perhaps your problem is at your end???

The upgrades were made to the database hardware, not the servers. Thus, your crash is most likely completely unrelated.

Nope been running stable since before these so called upgrades. Every time EVE mentions an upgrade or patch I cringe. Sorry to make a whine thread but my client crashed when I was in 0.0 when people were around. So yay, I am a little ticked.

Look at your own hardware, its not the fault of CCP if you crash.

Yeah, if you ignore the fact that Tranquility's had the stability of a tight-rope walking leg amputee for the last week.

Yeah, if you ignore the fact that Tranquility's had the stability of a tight-rope walking leg amputee for the last week.

The point remains, however. Adding another physical database can't really create client crashes since nothing it changing at the client level, only at the proxy/SOL layer. The addition of the extra database is to make sure that the problems with MS Server that were causing the database crash won't bring down the server again since there's a second DB.

Let's clear up something here.

If your client is crashing (closing by itself, or in extreme circumstances, crashing your computer) THEN IT'S NOT THE SERVER'S PROBLEM. It's either your hardware that is malfunctioning/overheating/etc, or an error in the client that causes the issue.

If you are getting disconnected (getting a "Connection Lost" error in which the client closes and returns to the splash screen with the error message) then YES that's either a server problem or your connection's problem.

You either have TONS of problems locally or you barely play at all.. I've been playing a little more than one month and I've already experienced 3 server crashes. hello?? anyone remember the multiple reboots after the last python update? unscheduled downtime = crash IMO

To be fair, the server crashes recently were due to database crashes caused by the MS Server software* - I think if you took the average of the server uptime vs. downtime in the last month it'd be at around 99%.
*Which, interestingly enough, the hardware upgrades solved by providing a second physical Database to default to.

That usually means your hearing aid needs batteries.

Being as this forum is all in writing, though, it probably just means you spend too much time here.

I love how people go on and on about things they know nothing about.
If the database and hardware was changed, the HELL YA it can make the client crash. Bad data being sent to the client anyone? sheesh you fanboys...

Well, all that was done what that they added an additional RAMSAN server - SQL requests are still delegated by the proxy and SOL server like before, which weren't change. I don't see how the additional database could contribute.
