Well, not sure, but perhaps my EW guide could be stickified on it's own in the forum.

It's currently already in the guide list, however there seem to be stickified guides which cover broader subjects.

As in - there is a guide for turrets, for missiles, for exploration... etc.

My guide deals with all of EW, not just dampening or jamming, so I feel that perhaps it would be appropriate to make it a permament sticky.

If you don't feel that way however, then it is still easily accessible through the "Guides" collection sticky. The link is in my signature.

Turret tracking guide needs revamp. It's quite misleading.
The sticky thread contains enough info on what needs to be changed, how, and why.

Current stacknerf sticky needs unstickifing.
Thread in my sig is not a guide, but far more deserving of a sticy that that one.
If anybody could be bothered to rewrite it as a guide, go ahead, do it.

Pottsey's passive shield tanking thread. Sticky. Forever.

Turret tracking, missiles and the such are complicated subjects in themselves, I.e. transversial velocity, missile explosion radius verse ship radius and the likes, information that cannot be attained through the item descriptions.

It's the basics of how they work.

Electronic Warfare modules aren't that trivial at all, albeit you guide is fantastic for those needing to clarify things or get a broader understanding of them, all/most of the modules that fall under EW can be understood via information ingame.

TD's = Simple
Damps = Simple
Web/Scrams = Simple
TP's = Simple
ECM = Chanced based activation on a %

Accuracy + Falloff = Explained and clarified in Turret tracking.

Your mathematical insight into the workings of items is a nice compliment to your guide, but personally think the Ships & Module sticky list needs a clean, and adding yours only adds to the clutter.

____/ Aem awaits a personal flame, with moderate/strong use of language, and a personal flame of how crap my understanding of the game is.

acronym guide in my sig... it doesn't seem to be getting glue in the new player guide section...

it's basically just like the dictionary thing, but good, and relatively thorough, though it of course has lots of room for improvement

How about a guide to writing constructive posts on the forum without having them drop off the first page in minutes because everyone just agrees and ignores? Wink

A small 'guide' on how to ask for and give setups in a semi-meaningfull way is in the works, but if you have anything to add, feel free to :)

Another point is, while we're asking for guides to be submitted, it most likely won't be in the form of each guide gets a sticky of their own, but two or three stickies of the Rules/Resources template of some of the other forums. I know that all the cool cats have their own sticky, but there are simply too many good guides out there for them to get their own sticky each, otherwise we'd end up with two pages of stickies and then the posts :)

Aye, but there is still a huge lot of confusion about it. I made my guide with explaining some other stuff too, which is common for all EW modules, but not trivial.

For example:
Falloff calculations,
Stacking penalty calculations.

Also, there is some information about dictor bubbles, which you can't really find in game.
Not to mention the fact that each EW type has it's counters etc brought out, which you also can not directly find in game.

Agreed 100% on both of these parts. I've read the stickied stacking nerf thread, and akita's linked thread is much more concise and clear, less misleading, etc.

Only fully works using the in-game browser due to linking of skills, ships and modules, but clicking links in game will pull up the skills, ships, and modules for reading.

Has CCP considered an offline training tutorial with interactive video supplements? The ingame training is fine, but a small offline single player tutorial of high-quality might bring people up to speed faster.

I wrote this guide a while ago, and it deals with the stacking penalty itself. A few chapters are quite math-heavy, but that shouldn't deter you.
