First question, the most important one: What will you use her for ? |

A phoenix can ..er shoot POS a carrier can shoot POS haul all ya **** and assign fighters to support craft ect ect.
So personaly id go with the chimera, just make shure you can use cap shield boosters, so many ppl try to fly em and cant :/ |

Want to bash POS and other capitals, and instapop BS undocking from stations? Phoenix is for you.
Want to support your gang and be able to effectively fight smaller ships? Chimera.
Though personally, I'd get an Archon. You should know Caldari caps suffer from fitting issues. |

Train the Chimera first so you can go frontline in pvp with remote repair capability, so that you can be self sufficient for shipping of fuel / ammo / whatever. Then train for the Phoenix so you can fly the current "battleship" class of choice in 0.0.
:-)
Seriously, train both.

Pvp is the only use of a capital atm - NPCing in one is....well - pointless
As for which one...you dont seem too (no offense) in-touch with pvp, so i think a chimera would suit you better. Carriers are jak of all trades, whilst dreads are anti-pos / capital.
Just my two cents. |

You can belt rat pretty well in a carrier if you're in a sys with a lot of triple bs spawn.
Pre-align for the next belt while you're fighting will reduce it's agility big penalty.
I think it is visibly faster than a standard raven but of course will be more expensive in case of loss.

I highly doubt it will make you more iskies. No way to collect loot (when solo), terribly long time to align and warp, long fighter travel times. |
