One and a half years ago, GoonFleet was founded. Within six months it was the largest corporation in Eve and had virtually pacified what was historically the most hostile region in Eve. Six months later, it was challenging the second strongest alliance in the game for supremacy over a single system. And six months later it destroyed the largest coalition of Eve players, catapulting to the second largest space holding alliance in the game.

I don't know what GoonSwarm will look like six months from now, but if history provides any insight, it is still destined for great things. When I created the corporation, I was 23 and taking a year off after college. Today, I'm 25, getting married, finishing up my law school exams, and about to start an intensive internship where I literally fight for the freedom of the poor. I simply don't have the time to properly manage an alliance of 4000 accounts and 2000 active members. The time has come for me to pass the mantle onto somebody worthy of the job.

Mittani has been my closest advisor since I promoted him to the directorship. He is Machiavellian and ruthless about the exercise of GoonSwarm's power. We have disagreed about the nature of the game at times, but there has been no more effective a director who has advanced the Swarm to a position of power. Where GoonFleet at first required a generalist veteran who knew the game well and had faith in Goons, GoonSwarm now requires no faith as has proven a success. It now requires a dictator who knows properly how to manage a bureaucracy of thousands, and to exploit our enemies with cruelty and cunning.

Mittani is the natural successor to the throne, and a person whom you should all respect for his dedication and skill. I could not have asked for a better comrade when I was in command, and I now name him as the Commissar of GoonSwarm. I ask that every member of GS follow him as they once followed me.

I will remain in GoonSwarm, as I fully intend to watch it eventually conquer the entire galaxy. I will advise Mittani when he asks me, but generally I will stay out of the politics of the alliance and leave that to the directorship and the Commissar. To cement the transition I will pass the CEOship onto Mittani tonight and instruct the directors to follow his orders over mine.

The last two years have been incredible for me, and I am proud to call myself the first member of GoonSwarm. You are all worthy of the galaxy that you will inherit in blood and toil. I hope to join you all on future operations against The Alliance and those who oppose us.
