How exactly does the skill work? Description implies, whoever has the highest leve, applies the bonus to all other members of the gang.
In the same time I've heard, only the bonus of either gang boss or squad commandeer is applied, even if there's a member with higher Mining Foreman level.
So, which is true? |

Can anyone confirm if it even works? I have trained to lvl 2 on my hauling character. It sits by the barge the whole time. I have tested making the fleet thing, the green light goes 'on' for the barge pilot but it does not seem to mining any better. :S |

Yes it works, simple way to check is to right click on a strip miner and show info and make a note of the mining yield, then set up the gang making sure the char with the mining foreman skill is set as the squad leader then check the info on the strip miner again.
A strip miners base yield goes from 540 to 550.8 with no other skills applied other then foreman LVL1 |

Yes I can confirm it definitely works.
If in doubt, check the M3 amount of your miners/strips (via modules tab of you ship info). Gang up, make the foreman squad leader, then do the same again. There will be an increase

Ofcourse it works, and is really great. If you planing to train it up to the end, you can setup an alt if is available (best solution) for mining director. The total benefit is really great. About 110m3 more in mining yeld, and a bit less than 2.5 mins mining cycle. If you add the foreman implant you getting greater bonuses. The dream of a near perfect miner |

Remember, it is no longer good enough to just be in a gang to get the bonus. You must be in the same SQUAD for this bonus to take effect. (Right click gang in overview and convert to FLeet) |

Oh, that's the only thing I wasn't doing... having both characters on the same squad. I'm gonna try that when I get home. Thanks! |

In addition, the character with the leadership skills (and ganglinks if applicable) must be squad commander. (They can also be wing or fleet commander if they have the appropriate Wing/Fleet Command skills, but in this case there must be an unbroken chain of commanders between them and the lowly squad members. i.e. for squad members to get a WC's bonuses, their squad has to have a squad commander, and their commander must have high enough Leadership to handle the number of members in the squad. Also, Squad Commanders do not get bonuses from their Wing/Fleet Commanders, only their members do. They will get their own bonuses though.) |
