If you haven't seen any of my other videos. Nothing I've done so far beats the capture and encoding quality than this final test right here.

GatecampHD Right click, save as.

EDIT: FYI this is nothing to write home about, there's no action, it's only a display of quality, that's it. It's rubbish in terms of eve content.

Fyi, it's captured at 1920x1080 at a solid 30fps(1080/30p). Toss this on your hdtv's. You'll note that with several ships(nothing like the RA v. LV battle, but you get the idea) my machine doesn't choke at all on it. Smooth as glass.

This video wasn't sped up to produce the smoothness, go ahead and time the icon throbs if you don't believe me.

See other 720p and 1080p test threads, mate. Proof of concepts.

Alright look you big bunch of haters, this was just a test render, of course it has no real eve content. Revel at teh OMGWTFBBQ!!1111 quality... As I said in my previous post, see the proof of concept threads, that's what this is, the final bit of my tweaking. Best quality per megabyte per frame I can get. I never said it was gonna be interesting.

What sort of symptoms? Your system may not have enough horsepower to decode 1920x1080/30p.

It stutters like fleet fights. My system is a bit poo (AMD Athlon XP2400+ 2ghz, 1gb RAM, 6800 GT) but I can run 2 clients ok. 1 in 1920x1200 and 1 in 1600x900. Must be the wrong codec.

No your system isn't fast enough to play HD video, plain and simple. Playing eve isn't as processor intensive as playing non-hardware accelerated video.

So no... I didn't use the "wrong codec". You're just falling behind.

I <3 VC-1

I hope more people start capturing at HD resolutions and for that matter start using better codecs like VC-1 and H.264.

Yeah, that'd be great, but not very many ppl have VC-1 yet, and not very many folks can play 1080p with H.264 because it's very processor intensive. Everyone has these Windows Media codecs. So for the time being, this is the best way to reach out to eve players, since eve doesn't run natively on macs.

Who cares about uber high quality? As long as it's 1204x786 minimum at a decent bitrate it's fine.

hey toaster. what are u using to encode your raw fraps to your working medium?

i use avs video converter and have tried every codec under the sun at every setting and cant get a decent transfer (which then wmv further ruins during final post processing). in particular mpeg4 version 2 and 3 are givcing terrible results and seem to be rate capped at 3000kbps. i've had to resort to encoding everything at an uber high wmv codec to reduce the filesizes and keep qual high enough to make the super hd a worthwhile investment. major prob though is premier hates wmv as a working medium and un-encodes it like a stuck pig - making synching to audio a frustrating and tedious process.

i would normally keep the working medium in fraps codec and just buy more storage but i've found over the last few projects that again, premier has a cow with the fraps codecs and crashes out during render cycles of the larger files.
