I am having a weird problem with EVE for some time now. For me it looks like a graphical issue, I might be wrong though. Everytime I stay online longer, the HUD starts blinking oddly. After a short while the blinks become more and more intense, and then I either get the memory dump and reboot, or a 30s - 1m hangup, followed by more hangups which eventually lead to a BSOD. Tried reinstallations, fresh drivers, switched off EAX, yadda yadda, no change.
Ideas? |

What can i say folks. Lots of crashs here too. Lost ships and implants to that too now.
After just too many crashes in and around a lil corp internal tournament we held today i reinstalled eve....with the result of not beeing able to login again. Went throught all the threads in the forums and tryed everything...
After going back to the config i had before reinstalling and like 50 login attemts i managed to log in just to see that the game performance was sub zero. Short freezes ever few minutes and so on.
Eve was running more or less "fine" for more than 1.5 years and this machine here.
But most annoying is that there are no responses to petitions and i dont see any devs answer in this thread too!
Highly annoyed customer! Cheers Galmas |

Same issue here - either using my Audigy2 card or onboard Realtek HD chip I get constant crashes - all drivers up to date, no other probs on the system with any other games etc, it's just Eve :| None of the workarounds (including disabling sound altogether) have worked for me either...
Come on CCP, the Eve client is at fault somehow, admit it and fix it PLEASE |

Getting random CTDs now also. Tried the usual, uninstall/reinstall..drivers, turn off sound etc etc etc. No replies to mails. Been playing/paying for several years now. Time for a break from eve until its sorted again..not the first time. Must remember to tell myself that its all my fault that this is the only game not running online unlike several others i play..remember..its...all..my...fault.. |

I've been getting CTD for months now. It usually happens when Im in warp and more frequently when Im on autopilot. AFter a crash I can't log in for long periods of time. It always says "Status: Unknown"... The game has picked up this fun little trick where every now and then it lets me login but when the character screen pops up it crashes yet again. I do see a lost connection window for a fraction of a second on that occurance though. This is getting very annoying |

Originally by: Cillatem My problem is " when i start eve and the startup screen comes up " before login" it just shut down and nothing happens :S this happened when i reinstalled win xp, All drivers are installed and i dident have that problem before i reinstalled xp
I had the same Problem. On my system the new Ati Catalyst Driver caused a Direct3D crash. You can check these settings with "dxdiag" command; the test for Direct3d was failed. So i use the older versions of "ati3duag.dll" & "ati3d1ag.dll" from the 7-08 version of Catalyst driver. So, if u have an ATI graphic card and use the 7-09 or 7-10 Catalyst Driver, it may causes the crash. Eve works now on my system. For further details read this (in german): http://www.computerbase.de/forum/showthread.php?t=331885 Otherwise i could upload these files? |

To be honest I am have seen multiple symptoms in this thread, so its unlikely they are the same issue which is why you are unlikely to see a CCP post, if everybody had the same issue they would likely look into it. |

Nope, but I get a similar problem. Has happened twice on desktop and 3 times on laptop. The whole machine just shuts down instantly and begins to reboot. Cab't be doing much good to my filesystem integrity... |

Actually, this seems to be the case for me as well... things were fine, but I've started totally rebooting windows xp usually while playing EVE, but sometimes after I log out of EVE as well... Are you using an Nvidia graphics card? If so, which drivers are you using? EDIT: Browsing through more forums here... looks like the realtek drivers/support could be the cause... I'll try switching off hardware acceleration and see if I get more freakish reboots! |

ok, I have a problem, I've just started playing eve again for the first time since february, so I decided I needed to rerun the tutorial. So I decided to create a new character to do this, but as I clicked the confirm button at the end of the creation I got BSOD'd. I thought this might be due to a lack of space on my hdd, but I cleared up some junk and now have 4GB of space on the damn thing, and yet STILL it crashes O.O
anyone else got this problem? |

I found a temporary fix for this. For those on Windows XP maybe even vista (Dont know anything about Vista. Go into control Panel and create another Computer Administrator,Name it what you wish, accept your New User and close out all programs then reboot your system and log on under the new user and download and Play. It seems to have affected something somewhere in the user.ini and i have yet to locate it but i am back online and playing Normally again. and yes I had the exact same problem as you. For all the other issues before this Post you can only try this to see if it atleast lets you in to play Normally as you may have gotten a bad Patch or the download was corrupted by an antivirus or Pop up Blocker somehow Just not sure. Just try it once before you knock it. My Original user on this pc is still active even if i cant Play EVE on it there are tons of files I need to keep there so im not deleting my Original user. Goodluck and Fly safe! BigBear2U |

lol you can check to confirm this but im sure Windows Of Any Kind Needs atleast 3$ Space on your Hard Drive for Swap file so 4 gigs wont cut it for eve to say the least. Regretfully your going to have to Delete and uninstall a Lot more then 4 gigs worth of info.....sorry for the bad news bud but windows of any Kind is a hog for swap file so let it have it :) Peace. I've got that exact error message coming up now, even after multiple reinstalls. Glad to know I'm not the only one :-P Also, about the same time this started happening, I've been getting logonui.exe errors during computer startup, and other strange system behaviors... |

Yes my client is crashing left and right since todays so called beta patch. You may want to remove this patch as it is bugged severely. other member in my corp are having the same issue. If not removing it ,do you have any idea when you will have a patch to fix you latest patch? |

Edited by: Bluemelon on 07/11/2007 09:19:20 The client randomly crashes (with no message/no error) to desktop (let's say one or two times in a hour); it does not loses connection just quits. I've updated all drivers, attempted to disable the audio card (via bios), removed the audio harware acceleration, disabled ingame sound, bought a new audio card, uninstalled and installed the game several times, but the game keeps crashing (latest patch applied with no errors - latest full client installed too)
System is as follow: - M/B ASUS P5N-E SLI - Intel core Duo 6600 - 4 GB S3 DDR2 PC-6400 - 8600 GT Xpert Vision 256 Mb - Maxtor DiamondMax 320 gb
No overclock, temperatures are normal. No issues with other games. Client crashes under Vista or XP. After crash the PC runs smoothly and can immediately connect to the game again.

Me Too ... Patch Yesterday has been followed by server and user crashes. Here's what I do:
1) Keep the Faith, CCP is working on it. I see today's DT ( downtime ) is also extended. Yea - other games are not like this - but EVE is worth it
2) Backup Settings folder. Under Vista a full re-install should preserve them but... It holds your menu layouts, Bookmark Folders, Saved Overview Setups, etc. See: C:Users\ -your user name here- \AppData\Local\CCP\EVE\Settings Backup the entire "Settings" folder. Having a backup solved an overview issue I had last month.
3) Detailed Complaints and Petitions do Help CCP and others know what's happening, so rant on, in detail :)

I'm crashing constantly as well. Everything seems fine until noone has talked in chat for 5 minutes and I hit a station services button and it disconnects. Every time I login, only since the latest patch though, everything was fine before that. |

Edited by: Owa Kindarin on 08/11/2007 14:57:57 Edited by: Owa Kindarin on 08/11/2007 14:56:37 My client used to crash without any information when i try to open mapbrowser (with clicking F11).
After using the logtool (of which i became aware thanks to the reply that was given to my related petition) that can be found within the installation directory i saw that my windows login name has some language specific characters and because of this the path of the cache folder could not be located (Unicode problem i guess) (that is under c:\users\[loginname]\AppData\Local\CCP\Eve\Cache). After i changed my windows login name (which contains no language specific chars) my problem resolved.
If you have such a problem try checking this. I hope someone will benefit this info. |
