So an old mate of mine has invited me to join his corp who have Gurista's out in their space. Problem is i've never really had much experience against Gurista's, and i heard they have high EM resistances. So what to do? Is it feasable to go there or will the rats be near impossible for me to kill? Currently im flying an Abaddon and only have large beam specialisation, not pulse.
I don't really want to spend the time training another ships skills, but if need be i would load another weapon type (such as projectile).

The Apoc works fine against Guristas but not sure about a Abbaddon. |

You'll be fine. Ive ratted Angels with Amarr before, and its still doable, just takes longer. |

Very possible, just not as efficient. In the end the resists aren't high enough to make it impossible, so the choise is fun with a friend in his corp, or ratting somewhere else (possibly by yourself.) |

I hate guristas, they have resistances that fit very badly for amarr ships.
I tried doing it, but not for long.
Train for gallente ships if you have amarr skills, should be enough of the same skills if you're planning on staying |

currently im finishing maxing out my nos domi for pvp
and ratting angels with my raven@torps

It'll take awhole lot longer compared to a raven with kin torps or hybrid the/kin damage...at some point i shot guristas with EM torps and wasnt even doing half the damage i was used to with kin. |

Amarr do NOT have it that bad. Rogue Drones, Blood Raiders, AND Sansha's Nation are all weak to EM damage. Blood Raiders resist both Kinetic and Explosive and really suck for Gallente and Minmatar with Kinetic/Explosive turrets to deal with as well. |

It should only take 3 weeks or so to train up enough skills to rat very well in a raven. Then you will be set for any type of 0.0 rat. |

I was inactive for quite a while last year so im behind the eight ball as far as skills are concerned, and as a result I am hesitant to train up another ship for ratting. I guess if i ratted in an apoc with 2 launchers with kinetic missiles, and had kinetic / explosive drones i might be ok?? |

6 megabeams w/multispecs (more thermal dmg) and 2 cruises with kin missles (or torps)
this is all i have to rat in and it works. oh and 5 medium kin drones (t2 if ya got them) |

they don't sensor damp you, they jam you. wait it out, make sure you take out the small **** first, that is usually the ones who jam you. |
