I have 2 different soundcards, 1 Soundblaster live for gaming and 1 M-audio Audiophile 2496 for music production/dj'ing/mixing and the like. The M-audio is my default card in windows and I'd rather not change that if not absolutely necessary, so I'm looking for an option to change my soundcard in Eve itself. You can change your GFX card but soundcards are usually overlooked in these kind of settings. I hope there's a workaround for this.

Sound cards are set in the Windows settings, in control panel/sound. As far as I know, games have no ability to change these settings, and thus it would be impossible for CCP to code such a feature.

Actually it's possible to select the audio output device in DirectX, but it's definitely very often not implemented. I haven't seen any program that could force DirectX applications to use a certain card though.

According to M-Audio's product description, the card should have DirectX-support and it propably has a lot better sound quality than SB Live. Eve doesn't even use EAX or other fancy stuff from what I can tell, so the difference in CPU-usage should be minimal, if any.
