Hey Everyone, In the past month, since the official CCP fanfest was announced, I have gotten Tons eve-mails and convo's from whole corps and players asking about our EvEgathering - Las vegas. Literally dozens and dozens of them to be honest. Whole corps wanting to attend alot!  To answer a few questions, yes we are going to have it again this year. It will happen in the end of MAY so college will be out in the USA and the European Union also.We have been working behind the scenes, since last years event ended, to bring 2007 to the table. We are scheduleing a "combat arena" with tournaments "live in person". The arena will allow all the fans to actually see the tourney on plasma's over each player in a octagon configuration in a small arena style setting. We are planning a 8 man arena which means we can do 4v4 or two 2v2 competitions. We are hammering out the details these days and will have more info on this in the future. Last years event, in Las Vegas, was a HUGE success. This years will be even BIGGER and BETTER and LONGER!!!! Yes we are scheduleing 3.5 day event. 1st day meet and greet, Two full days of EvE and more. The final day will be one BIG afterhours party with a live band and more exclusively for the EvE Fans. ...Of course all the great food, fun and EvE FANS and ALOT more...! As we gather more confirmed details, we will make them available. Oh one more thing... We are orginizing a POKER room this year just for eve players and any DEVS that may come.... Yes we have our duckies in a row and have contacted the right Las Vegas OFFICIALS to make sure we are way above board on all this. We will be offering package deals as well as cover your own travel and accomodations again also. We have more BIG things to announce yet but not until they are CONFIRMED.We will also be bringing back the signed large Posterboard of the evegathering, all signed by players and devs attending last years event, to be put on display next to our second one for 2007, that everyone who attends will sign again. We are definately going to make it happen This will, by far, be the biggest eve gathering of the summer..2007 Numbers so far estimate 400-500 or more possibly. I have been getting 5-10 request a week for the last month for information, usually from corp leaders wanting info on groups coming. Basically we are 6 months away and already many are inquireing...ALLOT more then last year, i can asure you. You can read about last years EvE Gathering in Vegas in a full two page write up in E-ON issue #3 |

EvEGathering is founded and done for the fans, by the fans. CCP attended last year yes, will they attend this year. No they will not, according to kieron, the community relations manager. But CCP came and were guest just like the players last year. Yes they DEV chatted, no they did not finance the show. Its more about the players getting together then it is to meet the devs.We are expecting a great turnout this year. Inquiries and contacts tell me hundreds will come this year for sure...we are the largest gathering annual in the U.S.A. now by far. CCP we hope you will change your mind! ...because many others whom play your game will be coming !!!! CCP or NO CCP this years event will be OFF THE HOOK fun! |

They will be a tad cheaper then last year we hope... we are still sorting out details but we expect tickets to be very affordable...last year was 129.95 US dollars +3.00 processing. This year we are expecting to offer a package deal with rooms and such at the event - PLUS the straight up ticket alone and you book travel and rooms yourself. We want to keep it flexible as possible for people to attend. We hope to bring the ticket down to $109.95 US dollars this year. We will be posting a new site and more before the holidays arrive. With all the pre-info we can pack into it.For those whom have read this far tentative dates are the Last weekend in May 25th-26th-27th 2007. |

I dont know if i can suppress my "coolness" long enough to break down and come to an EVE gathering. You would think that after about 2 years of eve'ing it up I would be past that. Oh well. So does everyone wear a name tag with name/corp info and then rl name?? What was the demographic turnout last year? Average age etc. I think i might just bite the bullet and come out of the EVE closet! |
