Two quick countermeasure ideas.

First off anti-nos, the module needs to have some sort of effectiveness even when your not nossed. Either by reducing the cap use of your modules while its activated or disrupting the capacitor of the ship your targetting (thus making this an EW module and the NOS its counter).


And second off, anti Drone.

How bout a dronejacker module, while in use any drones attacking you roll against the module (Like ECM) if they fail they are under your control (up to the limits of your drone skills) for 30 seconds to a minute.

Eve modules are generally not multi-function.

Even with other minor effects, an anti-nos module will sitll be of use mostly to BS and especially HAC's. Nos are one of the major defences against Nos, and I don't think they need a major nerf against them, or indeed Nos in a BS-BS situation. The problem is when Nos are used on far smaller ships, which a anti-nos module would not even begin to address (smaller ships don't have the slots for mounting it).

And dronejacker module, right. So specalist drone ships are a form of suicide when you're going up against ships using this (sigh). I'd suggest instead that ECM burst modules be modified so that they can disable drones in their area, if they succeed in jamming them, for perhaps 5-10 seconds.

I am not saying your ideas are bad. I am just concerned when I hear the word countermodule. One day we can choose between 120 different countermodules which makes it like lottery to fit exactly the right countermeasure for a given situation.

Yeah thats why I dont like modules that haven o use except for certain situations, the dronejacker is a good way to steal some offense even when roaming.

AS far as making drone ships obselete, it wont, it will make them have to fit guns. It should serve as a reduction in firepower and not a total cutoff unless you are attacking someone with 5 million skillpoints in drones using your newbship.

ECM burst would knock drones out for 30 seconds, just like anything else.
Smartbombs are also an excelent counter for drones.
Nos is the counter nos.
As said earlier, the problem comes from having heavy nos going onto a frigate, just like the old problems of torpedos against frigates.

Yea, it JUST makes a good portion of their offence turn against then, another HAC with onenwill probbaly slaughter the drone ship with ease, because the specalist drone ships without their drones are seriously under-par.

Yea, make defender missiles more effecient. And put an option there for it to be an "active"(take down missiles from a specific ship) or "passive"(take down missiles being shot at you or your gang). That would make them a viable option.

Yes, and when they're a viable option, missiles will need (given they're currently balanced without working defenders) a boost to compensate, in damage. And that means anyone without defenders is doing to take more damage from a missile ship. Sigh.

Not good. Just take defenders out.
