Problem: For those people who sort their overview by distance (which should be the majority), targeting ships out of a crowd of moving ships can be very tedious and annoying. I hold Control and click on the ship, very often just to realize I selected another object instead of the ship I wanted.
This holds true for NPCing as well as PvP fights. It just sucks if you select something wrong (and waste time doing so) because the same second that you click, the order of distance changes and something else hops under your cursor.
Suggestion: When holding Control and moving the cursor into the area of the overview, freeze the overview for as long as you hold down Control.
That would make targeting MUCH easier and convenient. As soon as you release Control, the overview should update again.
I don't think this would be hard to implement. Cursor position is constantly monitored anyway. And I don't see any drawbacks this could have.

I made the exact suggestion about 6 months ago. I suggest you bug report it as a feature request.... hopefully it passes the bug hunters' approval and gets forwarded to the devs. |
