I am of corp Death cubed [D3], iv been playing for coming up to a year now, and started pirating with some friend and we formed the corp. my rules to which i pirate (which is mostly the same as the rest of the corp)
When im in a system looking for players to shoot at (i dont say kill as it can go either way) i dont care who they are, what they're doing or where they are from (corp).
The thing to remember is IT IS JUST A GAME.
if i make an arrangement with anyone in any chat, it will be honoured to the fullest.
If i kill someone, i have no intention of going for the pod.
I will let people come back for their cans and grab whats left, i have even taken it to a station for them to collect at no cost, if they only have a shuttle and there are rats by their can i will kill the rats to allow them to get their stuff back.
A hate people that dont fight back, i admire all those who do, even if the odds are greatly stacked against them.
If i've just lost you everything you own (and i will be able to tell if i have) i may even reimburse you for that loss.
In short i am the pirate who cares.YARRRR!!

I've changed my stance on podding in that where I would usually care more about scooping the loot, that "added thrill" of one more explosion with the pod seems to have tipped the scales into favor of getting the pod. Loot gets old after awhile and thus I recommend podding to add to your piracting pleasure. Plus, I am convinced that the very best in hate evemails are inspired more by implant and pod loss than by ship loss :) YARRRR!!YARRRR!!

Wait, how is that piracy? I always thought of piracy as disposing of someone and steal his stuff, not smack him in the face and apologize while taking him to the hospital. You're twisted, man.

If I offer a ransom and don't get it, I'll pod if I can (haven't had a single successful ransom yet, I'm still trying to get used to how much I should charge). If I've attacked for loot and haven't asked for a ransom, the pod's free to go unless I think it's worth ransomming that.

what's the point in that? why don't you just go to 0.0 and kill people for fun that way. Then you don't get a sec raiting hit for killing someone who might just lose everything and didn't want to fight. Where as in 0.0 space anyone know they have to fight. Just saying.. if you want a challange why don't you go give yourself one instead of being a nice pirate?

You're so teaching me how to pirate! YARRRR!!

I haven't started pirating yet, but I wouldn't destroy the pods. I don't know why, I just can't bring myself to do such an evil thing, even in games Laughing (exept if they act like a "1337" kid, or start trashtalking me. Bye bye to the pod Twisted Evil

What's that saying, if you see Chuck Norris you're in danger...if you don't see Chuck Norris, you may only be seconds away from death?

I dont think its my brothers fault abotu his bad piracy, i think its just coz hes only young (12) so feels guilty about killing people.
I agree with most of you hes to soft the way he's 'pirating' will make him poor very quickly btw he flys a fully t2 kitted caracel which costs nearly 4 times the cost of the shipLaughing

TIPS:
1) ask for ransoms on pods or ships what ever id do it on pods just because that way you get isk and moduels from there loot.

2)KEEP THE LOOT (not keeping the loot is like a pirate finding gold and giving it to poor people, and we all know that doesnt happen)

3) FLY CHEEPER SETUPS or stronger ships because i know your a famous to all those who know you for loosing the most ships we have ever seen Very Happy

TBH, I'm 50/50 on the whole podding thing. It's just down to your personal choice. I've heard good reasons for and against. I only ever podded 2 guys and they both deserved it YARRRR!!

Although I am surprised as to people's attitudes lately when trying to go for the ransom. It hardly ever seems to work, so I end up blowing their ship up and looting what I can. There seems to be a general feeling of resentment ( understandableLaughing ) But even If i have time to explain that giving me the money will be much cheaper than replacing your ship, insuring it again and buying the modules for it, they still refuse to pay!!

So lately I haven't been bothered to ransom, just blow them up and loot what I can. Has anyone else had much trouble when ransoming??

They lose their ship because they ignore common sense and don't know how to fight, not to mention don't pay the ransom - I figure webbing and jamming the pod, then offering one last ransom for their life to be an occaissonally enlightening experience. People either see the light, and pay up so they keep their nice +3 implants, or they are stubborn and pay for it.

If nothing else, podding generates three of piracy's most highly desired commodities:
1) hatemail
2) corpses
3) fear

Personally if i pop a ship and the pod is still there in the time it takes my tempest to lock it then it deserves to pop YARRRR!!

As for giving them stuff back, wtf never the only way i can make cash is by selling the mods, if people know they wont make it through alive they will be more willing to offer me isk up front for safe passage which i have done before and will honour, best thing is to have an alt in a hauler in system so that you can scoop the cans while your main uses duct tape to repair the armour damage you just took Laughing

I'm always amazed by the noobs that actually shoot back against a BS rather than just try to escape, and also those stealth bombers who think its fun to cloak while being 3km away from me heading to the gate i know they are heading to Twisted Evil

Basically kill what you can steal what you can and make as much isk as you can, i take everything even the crappy mods because i can melt them and turn them in to iskies Very Happy
