Hi folks,
I've only been playing for a month and decided to try my hand at a few of the complexes but have found most of them to be cleared when I arrive. Thats fair enough but sometimes there is a ship there just waiting and the abuse I have received for merely popping in while they are there is way over the top.
What is the general etiquette for camping these places, can they be claimed by some guy just sitting there afk waiting for a spawn or are they considered free for all?
They seem pretty good fun judging from the few I have been able to try but I'm getting put off a bit by the attitude of a few idiots. |

Block the idiots and do the complex. The best way though is to find a complex in a system that doesn't have many pilots in it. There are plenty 1/10 - 3/10 complexes around for everybody. |

The complexes with the good drops are always camped. Not yet found one of the serpentis 3/10 ones uncamped, but the 4/10 ones give crap rewards and are never camped, for example

Well crap rewards on those complexes always equals a 2.5mil BS bounty and one lvl 7 and one lvl 8 overseer loot at (600k and 1.2mil) respectively.
So you are definitely going to get 4.3mil in cash and don't have the hassle of piccking up lots of loot - cause very little drops!

but compare that to the rewards in a 3/10
possible 1 bpc for the pirates in question frig / cruiser(I think cruiser ones can drop)
the same personal effects(and actually more of them)
whats a faction frig bpc going for these days?, 10m+
even if it's 1 in 5, you just negated the mega's 2.5m
add to that ONLY the serpentis 4/10 has a battleship, the guristas 4/10 the 'boss' is a building |

erm... if you run the serp 5 times and get 10mill, you run the 4/10 5 times.... 5 x 2.5 = 12.5... which is >10... So no, it's not negated  |

but you can run the 1-3/10 easily in an assault frig, without worry
the 4/10 takes work/time
go into the 3/10, blast everything, loot and move on(hell most people blast the first npc gatekeeper and move on)
where as the 4/10 you have to clear everything to get the reward |

Yeah and that's a big problem. CCP should remove any possibility of good loot on the gatekeeper, and have the only real chance of loot at the last stage. That's just plain silly to come to a complex, see the first stage empty, (or just without the gatekeeper), whereas every single NPC is there at the other stages given your scanner results... |

Just curious to what 4/10 complex has a 2.5 mil BS. None of the ones I have done have any BS's but I only do gurista scout complexes. You do have the chance of getting a bpc though. the gilla for example. I run this in my af. Just curious to the Battleship so I can get me some of that |

Takign a HAC into a 5/10 complex also works. 1st stage in a drone complex yields about 3M in minerals and overseer loot. Next stages i haven't done the math yet :) The time needed is about 15 mins with crap guns (T1 unnamed, I KNOW IT IS A WASTE) on a Vagabond for the 1st stage. |

a more varied variety of loot drops in each complex. That way sometimes good sometimes bad - complex campers will soon get bore (make some of the lesser ones drop better loot occassionally) |

Serp narcotics warehouse Example - oueletta. Theres one 2 jumps away from Bawilan too, forget the name of the system tho. Don't bother, it never drops anything except an 8th tier overseers. Tough to kill with just an assault friggie |

well back to original point if someone controls the plex and refuses to let u in then if its low sec or 0.0 u will have to remove them to get at it. |

how hard is it for the 2nd stage solo in a HAC? i'll have my ishtar in about a month(damn cruiser 5!) |

the 5/10 rogue drone complex is hard to do solo.
there is a Dominix with 77% resistance to everythin on his armor.
with one Armageddon and a Prophecy it took me about 15 mins to get it. (only second stage)
the 3th stage spawns 1 bs to and offcourse alot of drones.
but the 4th stage is the hardest. there are 5 bs's there.
and with 77% resis, it hard to take em all down. since you really need 1 diehard tanker and alot of firepower. they seem to have some kind of UBER armorrep :/
but the loot is good :)

3 BS can run 5/10 drone complexes all the way to the end.
