aye looks like they are still playing with it. Good to know theres more routes into the north + cloud ring. It was always extremely easy to blockade the entire north by camping ewok + p3. Now its not so simple Lets keep an eye on the map after SiSi downtime today and see if they add anymore |

WHAT? Okay, the backstory behind this is that relations between the empires are degenerating. FORGE, LONETREK, AND CITADEL ARE ALL CALDARI! Is somebody trying to say that relations between Caldaris in Lonetrek is degenerating with Caldaris in The Forge? This right here is NOTHING more than making things a pain in the ass for people. I enthusiastically endorse the idea of sacking the person responsible for this.[Let the moose jokes run wild.] |

After all. you want some enjoyment out of the game, not greef. Thats all in the attitude towards it though. This isn't the end of the world as we know it. Hopefully...
yeah its a game. which gets changed every now and then, sometimes drastically sometimes slightly. this new map thing was supposed to be a major change to something we all play by, the routes available. the map has almost always been the same since beginning, cept for the introduction of empire highways and those connections between regions in the deep 0.0. ever since beginning the chockepoints have been there, ppl camping there 24/7, which i think is one of the reason why 0.0 is mostly empty and empire space full(and the lvl4´s), ppl just dont bother wasting time and energy getting stuff which takes along time and effort to get as it does in this game, so it gets blown up in 5 secs in the first 0.0 system, cause its the only entrypoint to 0.0 for miles..... hence, this patch was allegedly supposed to remove that, and ill give them that, there are a few more jumps in, but should be many many more and better distributed. this is half-measures and a coupla sections get no new jumps in... and that sucks imo, and this is the place to say your opinion |

Mantenault (Placid) <-> rqh-my (Pure Blind) Taisy (Lonetrek) <-> m-oee8 (Tribute) Niarja (Domain) <-> Kaaputenen (The Citadel) Kourmonen (The Bleak Lands) <-> Auga (Heimatar)
Removed
Buftir (Derelik) <-> Junsen (The Bleak Lands) Todrir (Metropolis) <-> Kisogo (The Forge)
Yesterday you weren't able to cross this red line without going into low sec, but now you can't cross this red line. So quite a few changes for the better here, though I don't like the Todrir<->Kisogo change. :(

All right, I need to make amends, looks like CCP's still tweaking it and adding more access points still, which is great news. Go go go, more more MORE !! |

Right, the idea is to increase the distances from a to b, what is the point in having 5000 systems if you can get to any system in three jumps. It is supposed to take a long time to get from places to other places, the highways were only a temporary thing because of the server's (at the time) low population. Be glad it isn't as long as it used to be. Now, wts: clues. |

Orvolle (0.7) Torrinos and keberz (both 0.5) come to mind. Oh and whilst i agree that taking out the inter-empire highways doesnt really fit with the plot of the cold war, err... tough, i agree with enslaver. Meh, i live in 0.0. No, the point is that there's a Cold War.
Let's see:
1/ Removal of quick travel between the cold-war factions. 2/ More longer or low-sec intra-empire routes.
This does NOT mean:
1/ Removal of inter-empire links. 2/ Vastly longer links between the allied Empires. 3/ Removal of routes between empires through 3rd parties (Derelik, etc.)

Balance and the game's health is served by the removal of some of the shortcuts within faction territory.
Then so be it. We are not dependant on background to govern our gameplay changes, but the other way around. |

Aww, isn't sarcasm cute. And Rod? I don't agree simply because I don't see what purpose they serve. All they are doing is changing routes *within* Empires uncessarily. As I said before, they need to completely re-arange the map visuals for the new way the map's linked, in large part DUE to the internal changes... |

There need to be more chokepoints, not just points that drop you far into enemy space.
For example take Kaira/A2-V27, now there will be a new point from empire to Querious, FAR into Querious, like a highway? 1-3 more gates in kaira leading to systems around A2-V27 would be far more realistic.
The NWO should enable people to get into low sec space easier, not let them move into DEEP 0.0 within a few jumps.

And the map is different again today! Seems to have more empire highways. What was wrong with the map in 3511? These are according to the autopilot, I can't spend my entire life running between systems on the test server
Yesterday Amarr <-> Pator 18 Jumps Safe Amarr <-> Pator 21 Jumps
Today Amarr <-> Pator 13 Jumps Safe Amarr <-> Pator, none according to AP (not that I mind, just for comparison).
Yes, I would infact like the longer route back.
Btw CCP, if you don't remove that hull rep sound everytime the warp drive goes, I will have to kill someone. |

In britain during world war II roadsigns were taken down across the country, roadmaps etc were no longer printed and existing ones were confiscated, so that if the third reich invaded they would have more trouble finding there way around and couldn't progress as quickly.
From a roleplay perspective I'd envisage the removal of highway gates internal to empires to be akin to that.
From a current technical standpoint, one part of the idea of the NWO is to presumably remove the causes of people clumping up on the map so that they will spread out, make better use of space and most importantly perhaps reduce the load on the servers, the internal empire gates cause that as much as the ones between the empires.
From a speculative future technical standpoint, I gather one of the objectives they are hoping to do in Kali is the faction wars whereby players can sign up and fight for there side, with the result of sovereignty of systems changing hands, if the in-empire highways remained players could possibly jump large distances with the conquests. |

how about we all wait until the changes are on tq, seeing as there were changes today as compared to yesterday on sisi they might be a bit different again tomorrow on the big server thingie (also since i don't think they will do last minute map changes based on "last minute forum threads" there is no urgency to whine here is there). |

well after moving around empire and highways tonight i can for sure say eve's going to lose alot of wow factor tomorrow
the busy system when approaching the gates tonight was just WOW!, the amount of ships on approach was amazing, and come tomorrow this will be no more, there'll be no busy systems, no hubs, no traveling, nothing... ppl will stay in there region and there'll be no super hub's and this saddens and worries me about the direction of a game i love is going.
i've tried 0.0 and didnt like it,the devs seem to be trying so hard to push ppl 0.0 that perhaps they have lost sight of the reason why and what its doing to the rest of the game

Idea, and it may be bad (haven't thought about it much), so feel free to comment: would it help if they allowed teleportation services, for a fee? From in-station to in-station, and only between certain outposts (like for example, the capital of each region or whatever), and only teleporting your pod, no taking ships or gear with you. Maybe even restricted further, depending on your standings.
Similar to clone-jumping, but without actually dying.

The new map is good. Slightly longer distances between empires and even some lowsec inbetween. Pity that instas kinda kill the whole purpose, they should be removed now. \o/ |
