Edited by: Jim Steele on 07/04/2005 10:56:25I want to do missions for blood raiders, as I prefer agenting in low sec space, and want some nice pirate faction stuff ( Bhaalgorn 4 teh win!) Also empire is dull, i want to watch my toes and have the option of a bit of pvp if i get bored. My standings with them is rather low (~ -6) and i cant even use there lowest rating lvl 1 agent. My question is how can i get my standings up with them since i cant actually use their agents? do i need an insanely low concord rating or something?  |

At -6 theres prolly not a whole lot you can do.
Working for their allies might be an option, since criminal connections/diplomacy wont fix 6 points. |

Ill train up the skills for starters, would my standings increase if i make an alt to talk to the agents, but get my main to do them as he's hard as nails  |

With -6 u need Diplomacy at high level, not criminal connections. Try to make some Missions for Thukker Tribe i think. Making missions for Thukker Tribe increases your standing towards all Pirate factions. (I#m not 100% sure, but i think it was Thukker Tribe). |

Jim im in exactly the same boat as you, im a bit of a amarr ***** and after mulling over stats of various ships in factions list on eve-i ive decided i want a few blood raider cruisers eventually. Looks to me like an awesome ship for solo pvp  I had -3 rating roughly, ive stuck out doing lvl1 and lvl2 missions for a few days while training social skills a little higher and im not far off using a lvl3 now. Just persevere with it, i pvp 90% of the time so this is boring as hell for me but, just think of the day when you activate your nice shiny faction ship after all the hrad/boring work. Diplomacy is the skill you need to train to get your rating a little higher, when its in a + standing itll be the connections skill that gets applied. |

Now as you can see im quite combat specialised, but i suppose this does mean i have room for improvement with regard to social skills. So connections it is, what about criminal connections? does that improve pirate faction standing too? It says .4 so presumably at level 4 that will be 1.6 and with connections 4 another 1.6 for a total of 3.2 standing boost, that will still leave me at a -3.5 odd standing will i be able to get a level 1+ with that Darn it why did i move to amarr  |

Im pretty sure diplomacy only gets used when your in negative standing and coinnections takes over when your in positive standing to the corp/faction. |

Maybe an Amarr Navy killing spree? You could try Khanid agents, since they have send you on a lot of missions against them. Or just kill them in Empire if it doesn't get you Concordokken'd. |

Hmm im not sure this works as killing pirate npc's deosnt increase standings with factions only concord.. as far as i know, thus killing a load of Amarians probibly would get me concordganked and not raise bloodraiders standings.. One to try with a disposable alt mabye. Can anyone conferm if killing Amarr raises bloodraiders standings? |

I was under the impression that concord didn't bother with you if you attacked a faction navy, only if you attacked actual players. |

I think this is true but would attacking them increase Blood Standings, or would i just get in hot water with the Amarr Navy? |

I'm not entirely sure here but, I think you can only modify standings through a corp/faction the aimed faction has a relationship with -> For Blood Raiders its:
Angel Cartel +2
Guristas Pirates +1
Thukker Tribe +0,5
So, only possibility would be to work for any of the above factions/corps. The Angels would be best as the Blood Raiders standings towards them are highest.
And note that the only way faction modification happens is when you do an important mission (Storyline). There might be some other missions that slightly improves your standing.
If you can't work for the Angels, then you have to work first for the serpentis as they have a +8 relationship with the Angels and so on.
So getting your standing up from -6 to an effective standing of -0,7 is going to take some hard work over several months (lowest agent is L1 -13 -> 0,7 eff standing) |

my corp is specialising in working for npc pirate factions, and i can confirm that working for thukker agents will help you with increasing your standing to all the other pirate factions. |

Criminal connections is the skill that could help. If the skill is not powerfull enough then Fjellu's advice is the best one. Do missions for (from best to worst) Angel Cartel, Gurista, Thukker.
If you dont have access to Thukker agents even with maxed criminal connection skill then doing missions for Minmatar is the way to start your criminal career.
Of course your good Caldari standings will suffer... |
