then his friend inty comes along... he ignores me.. roflmao...

about 5 minutes later- im in my pod

about 3 minutes after that- iv got a fresh new body in one of the orvolle stations

First was actually 3 times. First trip into 0.0. I got shot down and was too nervous to escape. Bought a new ship, went back, got shot down and podded. Just to make sure... I went a third time with the same result.

Oi! I'm a "carebear" miner/producer and I've been podded twice in my first 3 weeks, both times by venturing into low security and 0.0.

And losing 3 ships in the same region? I'm sure there's lemmings out there that could have learned from that one...!

My first, and last, two times happened on the same day in the same system. System was Amamake when Jus2awesome (I think) and Mk Ultra were frequent visitors, can't remember which of them got me though. Back then the gate jump in points were rather freaky. Jumping into a system through a gate could land you on a station you last visited, on the designated JIP or anywhere in between. Me in dual mwd stabber (back when one mwd size fit all kinds of ships) and I end infront of a scorp. He had me locked before my client loaded. I pop up, I try to mwd away but didn't have autorepeat on, he's allready firing on me and I CTD. Log back in and get my first clone message. Me and a friend go back to Amamake. I'm again in a Stabber and he's in a thorax with 8-10 drones. The friend ends up on the JIP, I end up somewhere far away, fly to the friend to see his thorax go boom. The Scorp is into armor when I arrive so I lock and start to shoot. He locks me, I CTD again. Log back in to read my second clone message, broke. Haven't lost a clone since due to my extreme carebearism and luck.

First time was in a desperate attempt to catch up with the fleet after being whacked in my Claw...

Jump through the gate where I know the fleet are on the other side - straight into a gang warp by the time the display sorts itself out I'm already in warp.

Land 15km from about 25 ships - wake up in a clone station wondering why a pod got called as a primary

Likewise. Most of the time I am in 0.0 space. Atm I am in empire, but thats not safe anyway because of wars. Just dont make stupid mistakes and you wont get podded. It's always possible to get out unless there is bad client or server lag.

Ah yes, this takes me back...

I was in the early stages of my 0.0 ore prospecting phase, running around in a fully basic mining condor, looking to sneak off with some samples of "the good stuff" wherever I could find it. This would be about June 2004.

I was sniffing around Syndicate at the time, when suddenly three very dangerous looking people entered local. All 3 had bounties and all 3 had a sec status of between -9 and -10. Their names were Zarquon Beeblebrox, Lifewire and XpoHoc. Can you see where this is going?

I autopiloted straight for the nearest gate to Empire, and ran right into them. Somehow I found the time to warp to the relative safety of a planet, but before I'd finished my sigh of relief, my autopilot turned me around and sent me straight back! Now that was a true OMGWTF moment.

This time there was no escape - my condor and its precious dark ochre cargo were instaganked and my pod snaffled while Lifewire convoed me asking how much my life was worth. I figured it wouldn't be enough to satisfy him, given how young I was at the time, and I told him so. This displeased Zarquon, and so Zarq was given the honour of finishing me off. Even now, I still wonder how much it would have cost to have been set free that day.

(OOC: I'd always been open-minded as to what sort of character Ben would end up as. That podding was the first step towards him becoming a "good" guy, and I'd always hoped I'd get the chance to meet those three again in the future, when I might be better equipped to repay the favour.)

Finally five months later, it was payback time. A JQA patrol downed two of Lifewire's scorpions in one evening, and I was lucky enough to make it onto the killmail of the second, in what still stands as easily my most satisfying kill in Eve to date.

However, my revenge against Zarquon remains unfulfilled...

all the older PVP guys will have been podded at some point, either due to the CTDing while activating modules bugs of old. or the splash damage of torps/cruise...

think my first cloning was in OBE... after u get cloned the first time, the rest dont matter as u aint an original anyways.

Never ever been podded but that's because i'm a barge miner an d my corp sees me as an investment so whenever i go mining in 0.5 or lower i always get an escort, only closest time to getting my ship blown up was by splash damage from Raven007 torps.

First and only podding happened when I was a member of SE down in FAT. Was in my geddon and hunting rats thru the belts. It was a Saterday and my kids were home alone with me at the time. I heard them start fighting each other so like a dumb ass I hit "dock" and went to break up the fight as my ship warped off to the station.

Five minutes later I returned and as expected Im in station but was surprised to see I was in a noob ship instead of my geddon. It turns out a group of CA pilots had logged on at the station just as I had hit warp and I of course warped right to my death. Lost a full set of implants and officer loot fitted. The only thing that ticked me off about it was I didnt even get a shot off. Would not have bothered me if I had gotten some licks in of my own.

Only been done twice back over 1 year n abit ago. Both in Venal when i was a NOOB,

On way back to base hauling set it to dock and went for a pee, Shrike came along and podded me in ma hauler IT2 i think.


Next one NOOB mistake, Undocked in Throax, and had Undocking box on screen Couldnt see a thing , didnt know u right clicked to close it, and my old firned Bizarre podded me :/

Last night nearly died, warped to gate in WOLF 2 crows there, no hardners or shields just fast lock, fired at 1 then paniced as they webbed me and scrambled me then i noticed web go, targeted other as a last ditch attempt he caught fire and warped as did i, 21% structure, But 1 crow down and nealry another :)

I think my first podding was by those nice guys in Celestial Apocalypse whilst I was a new pilot in the CA. A couple of interceptors made my shiny new Rupture into a shiny new explosion and my capsule followed not long after.

Thereafter followed a rather a number of self-poddings from the 'clone-jumping' technique of travel.

Since then, my second in combat was during the CA attacks on FA space where a rather pleasant Xanadu pilot taught me the thrill and adrenalin of frigate vs frigate combat, but sent me home once more a clone.

Since then, my only podding was, er, last night.

An unfortunate incident involving an incorrectly set autopilot, afk travelling, a Corp 1 gate camp and some much missed +3 implants.
