So sentry drones have the attribute 'Signature Resolution' with a value of 400m. I'm assuming this is what goes into the calculation of targeting time. Therefore, if I sensor boost my sentry drone will it improve its targeting speed?
But my real question is this; Since sentry drones have a tracking speed and signature resolution that is used to calculate their chance to hit, if I sensor dampen my sentry drone will it improve its chance to hit?
Chance to hit with turrets formula (if range to target is less than optimal):
.5^[(trans_velo*sig_resolution/range/track_speed/sig_radius_target)^2]

you man, thinks scan resolution and signature resolution is the same thing. The scan res is the attribute wich determine your locking time compared with the signature radius of the target. The signature resolution is the "size" of your gun. 400m of signature res on your sentries mean they have the same size as large guns. So they will have much difficulties to hit than heavy drones on small targets, and you cant improve this, exept if you target paint your ennemy and increase his signature radius |

All of those fancy equations can't save you from the eternal shame that you posted this in the wrong forum. |

Like Venusa tried to say... you're confusing signature resolution with scan resolution.
Dampeners and sensor boosters affect scan resolution.
Signature resolution affects how easily you hit small targets. The only "boost" you can get for your sentries is to target paint the victim.

She didn't 'try' to say it, she did actually say it. |

also so far and from many tests i have done, the signature dosn't really affects turrets, a standing still frigate will receive full damage from a LARGE turret, when it comes to turrets, only tracking, falloff and optimal come into damage calculation. missiles take only speed and signature onto account, and locking takes only signature onto account. |

Signature most definitely effects them. The problem is that you're using a situation where there is no transversal, at which point none of the tracking variables (sig res, sig size, tracking speed) matter. Only range matter, or, more specifically, the only thing that matters is how far into falloff the target is, if at all. |
