Is there a formula to work out how much bomb damage is reduced by signature? Can't seem to get EFT to tell me

I assume you are capable of Googling for: "eve online" "missile damage formula"

New Missile Damage Formula (updated for QR)

IIRC, the formula takes the worst case of lowest damage from either ship speed relative to explosion velocity, or ship signature relative to explosion radius.

For bombs, anything under the battleship-sized 400m explosion radius of a bomb is not gonna take full damage, even if it standing still.

I thought that as AOE weapons, bombs didn't use the missile formula. Specifically, I heard that higher speed doesn't reduce bomb dmg, just sig radius. Anyone C/D?

Bombs do not have an explosion velocity, therefore the missile damage formula looks like this:

Damage = Base_Damage * MIN(sig/Er,1) * Skill modifier

Where
sig = ship's signature
Er = Explosion Radius of missile bomb

Heh have you not been bombed enough on Agony roams to work this out yet? Razz

Target damage before resists = (target sig radius/400) x bomb damage

Examples help....

So for a Rifter with mwd off and max bomb skills :

Target damage before resists = (35/400) x 8000 = 700

Now for a Rifter with MWD on and max bomb skills :

Target damage before resists = (210/400) x 8000 = 4200

Eve target/damage mechanics are weird.

AE bomb blasts should have nothing to do with electronic sig radius.
