CCP never comes back to what they have been doing earlier. So, per usual, they set up the contest and then.. moved on to making more NEX items. |

Whats this - CCP haven't finished something? I find this extremely unlikely. I would imagine the Tornado contest was a figment of your imagination - or a massive scam designed to maintain your interest in EVE.
There wasn't any intention to actually put these contest ships in game you know!
Now hush and buy some more Aurum.

I BET ANY AMOUNT OF ISK, THAT WHEN THE TORNADO AND OTHER RACE EQUIVALENT SHIPS COME OUT; PLAYERS CAN ONLY ACQUIRE THEM VIA THE NEX STORE. THE PRICE OF THE MONOCLE WILL LOOK LIKE CHUMP CHANGE COMPARED TO THE COST OF ONE OF THESE. |

Set-up a contest where the player base gets all hyped up and let the players design a new ship.
Lots of PR, a cool new ship and hardly any costs.
Then pick a winner, wait 8 months and then sell the winning model back to the players for hard cash. KA TCHING!
