Gallante/Amarr could get EOM ships. Dark Blue/Black Amarr ships are pretty badass. Only problem would be the significant skill overlap (Armor Tank/Gunnery) so I'm not sure what kind of niche they could fill. Perhaps Armor Tanked Blaster/Missile split?

Caldari/Minmatar . . . Thukker tribe? Perhaps some fairly crazy/inconsistently armed lineup, each with fairly unique roles. Perhaps a fairly heavy drone carrier style battleship with a small ship maintenance bay? Or a jump drive on all of their ships?

Wasn't there a lore thing recently about a Caldari science guy going Minmatar?

Amarr/Gallente would be blasters and missiles. Which is not very exciting. We already have drone/laser in Amarr, drone/hybrid in Gallente, and missile/drone in Gurista.
Split weapon being the worst strategy coupled with the worst turret type... unless it came with really sick bonuses of some kind, I think people would generally pass. Hopefully they'd make them really cool looking so pros could have some more loot pinatas for PvP.

Caldari/Minmatar would definitely be fast missile boats since minmatar don't have a dedicated missile ship. Probably shield tanked. Both groups do shields to stay fast, plus Khanid ships already do missiles and armor. Probably sick RoF bonuses exaggerating the Minmatar style as opposed to damage or range.

EDIT--
Hmm, I didn't think about EWAR.

Amarr and Minmatar EWAR is used on Bloodraiders already. Gallente do damps and Caldari jam. Jamming is kind of the Gurista's thing though right? Minmatar get target painter bonuses, too. I would say Gallente/Amarr would do a damp bonus which would go along with abusing the range of rails or non-tracking of missiles, and Caldari/Minmatar might do target painters which would go with being missile/speed operating outside the range of webs.

Amarr/Gallente --> Drones + Laser (Amarr Hulls)
Caldari/Minmatar --> no idea, fast missile ships would just replace Angels as the fotm. As fast Blasterships I would rather see the intorduction of Mordus ships. But these would be Galltente/Caldari.

Blaster/Railgun boats that don't suck.

Oh well, that might require fixing railguns first.

Armor-tanked missile boats? Rifter with three missile slots?

?

Bloods TD and occasionally NOS.

Minmatar EWAR is TP; Angels.

An obvious Gallente/Amarr pirate cruiser would be something based on the Arbitrator hull with decent drone bonuses, but we already have the curse and pilgrim for that.

Aside from armor tanked + guided missiles, I think every concievable tank + weapon system combo is already in the game.

Armor+Projectiles: Minmatar, Angels.
Shield+Projectiles: Minmatar, Angels.

Armor+Hybrids: Gallente, Serp.
Shield+Hybrids: Caldari.

Armor+Lasers: Amarr, Blood.
Shield+Lasers: Sansha.

Armor+Non-guided missiles: Khanid.
Shield+Non-guided missiles: Caldari, Guristas.

Armor+Guided missiles: none
Shield+Guided missiles: Caldari, Guristas.

Armor+Drones: Gallente, Amarr recons.
Shield+Drones: Guristas.

Looks to me like Caldari/Minmatar would be the most likely candidate to fill the missing role, but my god would they be ugly. The only concept I can come up with to make new gallente/amarr ships would be armor resists + drone damage bonus, which does sound kindof appealing. Golden dominix hull please. Laughing

Amarr/Gallente (Amarr Hull)
Cruiser - An Arbitrator or Omen hull would be fine
Amarr Bonus %5 armor resists/lvl
Gallente Bonus x% Disruptor and Scram range increase
Role Bonus x% Damage for Lasorz

4 Highslots (4 Turret Hardpoints)
4 Midslots
6 Lowslots

100 mbits of drone bandwidth

This gives us a cruiser size vessel with the Gallente long point and a substantial armor buffer to keep it alive. It uses lasers to differentiate itself from the Proteus.

The large drone bandwidth gives it a Gallente feel while having all highslots be turret hardpoints is evocative of both Gallente and Amarr. Having a 4/6 midslot/lowslot mix is also a Gallente feature. An Amarr design would be much more likely to select 3/7 or 3/6 with another turret.

The bonuses on this ship should be calibrated to produce around 400 DPS (including drones) on a standard fit. NOT ANY MORE THAN 400 DPS. The Ashimmu produces about 400 DPS and has more ewar and less tank. Doing more damage than the Ashimmu would be unbalanced given the utility of the ships are about equal.

Caldari/Minmatar (Caldari Hull)
Cruiser - A new hull that takes inspiration from Caldari textures and the Caracal/Bellicose/Stabber.
Caldari Bonus x% Kenetic Missile Damage/lvl
Minmatar Bonus x% Target Painter effectiveness/lvl
Role Bonus x% Missile and Hybrid RoF

5 Highslots (4 Missile Hardpoints 4 Turret Hardpoints)
5 Midslots
5 Lowslots

25 Mbits of dronespace

This ship should have 75-80% of the speed of a Cynabal. A normal fit would go between 2 and 3 klicks.

This ship has the same slot layout as the Cynabal. I wanted to capture the minmatar shield-gunboat feel of the cane and vagabond by giving it more lowslots than midslots. 5/4/6 would have been good. However remember that tracking enhancers are one of the things that go in those lowslots. Missiles have no lowslot equivilant. However the most useful 'minmatar' bonus for missiles is to target painters. So a missile boat equivilant to a 5/4/6 layout with at least 2 damage mods and a 'tracking enhancer' is a 5/5/5 layout with at least two damage mods and a target painter.

I selected a target painter strength bonus instead of a web range bonus because this is supposed to be a DPS ship, not a tackle ship like the Rapier. A strong target painter produces better actual DPS than a range bonused web AND it allows the target a fuller range of motion. A damage ship should not also be a strong tackle ship unless it is willing to risk going into scram range.

As a damage ship a standard fit should produce around 400-450 DPS (including drones). 400 DPS is probably more balanced. Missiles don't suffer from falloff so this ship should be able to put exellent damage on primary considering the range it has.

There is no tanking bonus because of the minmatar side. A fast gank ship should be relatively thin AND it can tank either shield or armor if it chooses.

4 hardpoints and 5 highslots is intended to allow the ship a traditional minmatar utility high. The Missile/Turret RoF bonus is a nod to the split weapon systems most Minmatar ships that use missiles have with the twist that the turret system is hybrids. I do not expect that people would be particularly interested in fitting hybrids to this ship especially because they would have to ditch the kenetic missile damage bonus but it does provide the option.

This gap exists for years already. I dug up some of my old threads with ideas for filling those gaps, Though those are 2 years old and long locked for inactivity.

Equilibrium of Mankind (Gallente/Amarr; hybrid, shield)
Seekers of the Void (Gallente/Amarr; drones, armor)
Ulfhedinn (Minmatar/Caldari; unguided missiles, speed)

It's fun making things up, but it's disheartening when you realize that nothing will ever be done with all of this. Sad

Caldari/Minmatar (Caldari Hull)
Battleship - A maelstrom with Caladri textures?
Caldari Bonus 5% Shield Resists/lvl
Minmatar Bonus 7.5% Shield Boost Ammount/lvl
Role Bonus 25% Missile and Hybrid RoF

Highslots 8 (7 Missile Hardpoints 7 Turret Hardpoints)
Midslots 6
Lowslots 5

Drone Bandwidth 75 mbits
This ship should have the speed and agility of the Maelstrom.

The idea is that we haven't seen a navy ship yet that combines both racial tanking bonuses. This ship would have an incredible active tank. In exchange it is slow and lacks bonuses to help it apply it's DPS to enemy ships. I selected a 8/6/5 layout to insure that it could not fit as good a buffer tank as the Rattlesnake (6/7/6). I selected 5 lowslots to follow the layout of the Maelstrom, the Rohk, and the Raven.

I agonized over how many slots total this ship should have. It feels plenty powerful with only 19 and a small dronebay.

This ship has the same Missile/Hybrid RoF bonus as the cruiser I proposed. I was thinking about giving it only a missile RoF bonus but that would have broken the pattern. The Hybrid weapon bonus, the shield resist bonus, and the 8/6/5 slot layout all taste like the Rohk (which has a 8/6/5 slot layout). Giving the user the choice between fitting either Caldari weapon system felt like a very appropriate Minmatar contribution that blended the styles of the two races.

This ship has an intended utility high following the raven and raven navy issue. I considered 7 missile hardpoints and 8 turret hardpoints but I felt that 7/7 was a more Minmatar split.

It should probably have a powergrid issue fitting an MWD, active tank, Torpedoes and a heavy neut. It shouldn't have a powergrid issue fitting an MWD, active tank, cruiser missiles and a heavy neut.

I love the idea of a Caldari / Minmatar ship for the pure design aesthetics. A super fast kiting missile ship is prob a bit OP though? Imagine a Drake + Vaga lol.

Q: Can we have ships from mini-factions like the Equilibrium of Mankind?
A: Offering EoM ships to players would either mean having them drop through loot somehow, which is not really acceptable, or require them to be a fully fledged pirate organization, with territory, asteroid belt infestation, LP stores, agents and complexes. Doing so is a tremendous task which is not planned or even considered at the time being.

It has almost been two years since this was posted. Considering it would be new content, could utilize systems already in the game, and make every cross training meaningful to players, I can not see a single reason why they shouldn't do this. Players are begging for more content with all the Incarna rage going on. What better a way to deliver it than fun, new, pvp, pve, and storyline content?

I could see this as a great way to make missile boats more common in pvp however. Would really balance out the kind of ships you see on the field and dmg types more.
