Was this patch deployed? I never got an update.

Also, can anybody at CCP confirm that optimisations where done for / or tests done on.. M postfixed GPU's (Mobile GPU's), for example, GTX260M etc.

Thanks.

The patch was delayed because it was found that it might open up The Door.

My guess? They ran it on a $5K rig and it still ran like ass.

It was planned to go out in 1.0.2 but the patch was delayed. Keep an eye on the patch notes section and the player news for when the GPU update will go out. I'm sorry I don't have the details on the tests or optimizations with me and even if I did it would probably change as they are still being worked on.

I hope that developers have adressed the fact, that with same graphics settings you get 2-3 times more fps in space than in station. Perhaps it would be wise to have different settings for CQ so people could set 'em to low while still having high quality in space... ?

I did notice that the CQ SCREEEN costs about 15 FPS more compared to the docking bay with your back turned to the CQ Screen. Turn to face it again and the FPS drops 15 points.

Isn't the difference in rendering due to physx? Or is there more to it?

I quit paying FRESH money into CCP by my subscription, I now will only use OLD money in the form of PLEX. Currently I have about 4 or 5 years worth of ISK to purchase PLEX with, and growing.

But I suspect Eve won't be around long enough for all that gametime to be consumed :)

I plan to sing all the way down onboard the sinking ship lol

Best view in the house, and I can get to say "I TOLD YA SO" to all the naieve people :) If I can help it along by encouraging more NEX items, fine by me :)

Physx, not physics. Physx is the Nvidia feature to simulate the movement of clothing when we fart, the movement of hair as the heated fart rises and waffs past.

I know what it is, my GPU has it onboard.

So they do use hardware physics then. Kind of a waste if its just for hair, my boobs don't even bounce about when I walk (or at warp).

The eve client doesn't use GPU resources for physx processing.

No it uses the physx core of the GPU die.

Wasted just on hair and clothing though.

What ever they did it made CQ unbearable to run. To running just fine on my computer. So I can only imagine things will get better with the GPU changes.

They haven't done much yet.
