Found one that seems accurate and let's you create groups to share/show results. So I made a group called EVE Onliners and it will run until 2011.09.24. To try make it bit more interesting I will award: Prizes or scroll to post 12. The final results will be checked on 2011.09.24. So if you can afford high-speed internet or happen to live in a country with generally faster speed you get ISK.

Seems to me that high speed connections should be reward enough in themselves.
But then I'm the guy with the crap rural Italian "ADSL" connection which got the results of DL=0.71 Mb/s, UL=0.24 Mb/s and Ping=102 ms. |

wella, see if NGI offers Eulo "wimax"in your area, my parente back in italy a preety rural too but eulo works preety nicely better then the ADSL they had before! |

The speedtest test doesn't say much, it just connects to the fastest available test site so, if your isp is in any way decent, you get your max possible bandwith. It would me more interesting if we use a CCP IP for this. |

Ok, so I got a bit carried away when I made this test group + thread and didn't think it through.  Now I have done the homework (I hope) and added a few prizes to this: Touchdown - Fastest download speed - 10M ISK 1-UP - Fastest upload speed - 10M ISK Loser - Worst combined download/upload speeds - 10M ISK No Return - Worst upload speed - 10M ISK Sad Panda - Worst download speed - 10M ISK Champion Of The Internet - Best combined download/upload speeds - 10M ISK Elitist - Download or upload speed of 1337 - 5M ISK First Loser - Second best combined download/upload speeds - 5M ISK Haiku - Download or upload speed has 575 in it - 5M ISK Ookla: Mark Of The Beast - Three consecutive sixes somewhere in the result - 5M ISK Jackpot - Three consecutive sevens somewhere in the result - 5M ISK Local Host - Download or upload speed exceeds 500 megabits per second - 5M ISK Narrow Band - Download and upload speeds both slower than 100 kilobits per second - 5M ISK Snail Mail - Worst latency performance - 10M ISK Wrong Site - Best latency but worst download and upload speeds - 5M ISK All prizes will be sent out during the same weekend as the test ends 2011.09.24. |

This is unrealistic, I'm on a 1gbit business link and get a naff 40mb download/upload. Keep your money... :)

Speedtest.net test seldom manage to fill out my upload, even when I can do so with other speed tests or real uploads (torrents etc). Because of that I consider it to be a fairly pointless test. So for what ever it's worth here are my result.  Please visit your user settings to re-enable images. |
