This post is important because banned toons read these forums.

In other news, everyone has been reminded of how much other MMO's suck and are quickly coming back to eve online. Could this have been CCP's master plan all along? Shocked

Nah... I was going to say why but then I realized it may be against forum rules to discuss GM actions? Not sure.. So anyhow, just look at Helicity's blog I guess.

Woot! Glad I didn't pay for https://griefer-geddon.eve-industrialist.com/ domain for nothing.

Just "fgft" doesn't quite roll off the tongue like "hellicity" did...

I actually commend Helicity for taking the first shot fired in what is going to hopefully turn CCP around and get them to properly re-engage its community.

I also commend the OP on continuing to be one of EVE's 'loyal sheep' and hope you hang around making CCP lots and lots of monies.

Helicity did what Helicity believed was best at the time, so I seriously doubt there's anything to feel stupid about.
The only thing Helicity and Liang might eventually end up finding regrettable is losing temper somewhere along the way in doing what they thought was best and lashing out in a particular way that made them get banned.
But even that is uncertain.

100 points to Di Mulle, nicely said Very Happy

Anyways I hope Helicity's ban will be revised as its plain stupid to ban somebody for loosing temper (on good basis) or even pathetic if its retaliation for his posting of Fearless.

But what made me laugh was last line by CCP Navigator in his petition "You have broken this trust and, therefore, our communication on this matter has come to an end" yeah because you (CCP) didnt break trust of your players eh ?

Helicity wanted to get banned, because it helped his cause he was trying to champion at the time.

I'd guess he might regret it in the future as he obviously cared quite a lot about EVE and its community, though who knows?

Martyrs, or those that fancy themselves as such, rarely feel sorry for their actions. If they do then one shall sleep in the bed they made.

Telling someone to die in a fire is the modern internet equivalent of telling someone to go sodomize themselves. It is not a REAL LIFE threat and therefor it is not a valid reason for a forum ban.

Is it rude? yes. Is it disrespectful? yes.

Is it a real life threat? No.

Therefor the ban is not for a valid reason other than CCP trying to quiet an influential and vocal critic.

Quote:
3. die in a fire 44 up, 19 down

Term used by UO guild Evil Bastages in the 1990’s to express hatred/worthlessness to another player. Many other guilds followed throughout the years.

The term originally came about when a player was trapped in a temporary wall as he/she was burning. Evil Bastage member told him/her to die in a fire as he/she burned. It stuck from that point forward.

If you want to pretend the uproar didn't effect CCP's decision not to implant P2W, you are delusional. If the idea had not been floating around, it would not have taken almost a weeks time and a meeting with the CSM to announce they wouldn't add anything of the sort.

Love it or hate it no one can deny that Hulkageddon had a large influence on this game. which means by definition that it's organizer was influential.
