First of all... this isn't a complaint thread. I just wanted to mention something I thought of. Those of us who have been playing Eve Online for many years should actually be heartened by this statement: "...there are no and never have been plans to sell "gold ammo"* for Aurum". - CCP Zulu There is one simple reason why: It takes CCP a very long time to implement things into the game enviroment. Sure, it doesn't say there will never be "gold ammo"*, but if there isn't any plans right now, wouldn't that mean it would be YEARS before it even arrived in game if they ever decided to do it? They have talked about Walking In Stations ever since I can remember, and I came in game in April 2006 and it still isn't really in game yet since all you have is your Captain's Quarter to walk around in. * "gold ammo" in this post is being used as a metaphor to describe Pay 2 Win in general. "Gold Ammo" doesn't just refer to ammunition. Think of facial tissues as Kleenex, or soft drinks as Cokes. |

You do realise this is how they said there will never be a Microtransaction system implemented even for vanity items because it does not fit in with the EVE devs vision ? |

Hopefully, you are right. I am however holding judgement until after the CCP-CSM meeting. I am sure the CSM will prod CCP quite extensively regarding this. |

the problem is that they say "plans to". which doesn't mean they never will. i know they can't say never, since its like a legal issue or something, but "have no plays to" just doesn't give the same satisfaction were looking for. |

If there never was a plan to introduce gold ammo then what was the point of the debate in the newsletter? the devs have nothing better to do than debate something there were never plans to do? |

I am trying to be lighthearted about the situation is all. Anyway, I agree with you, I think people should wait until after the CSM meeting before giving out a final verdict, see what comes of it. Hopefully it turns out for the best. |

"for Aurum"
Who says there won't be another currency created to buy Non-Vanity items with?
That is the most meaningless blog I have ever seen... Well except the previous which was just to insult us. |

From the leaked CCP memo/newsletter "Fearless":
On the opposite end of the scale to vanity goods are performance based items such as weapons. They are consumed through gameplay, making them a potentially powerful source of renewable income. Selling them for real money is very tempting. They are highly desired by the player audience and yield lower development costs, as variation can be achieved through numbers rather than unique art assets. Selling them though, is highly controversial. We are planning on doing so. I would be tempted to say it is because we are fearless, but the real reason is that we have strong evidence that selling performance enhancers, in moderation, works. Korean developers have capitalized on performance-enhancing items for a long time, but it took a leap of faith from the people developing Battlefield: Heroes to show that the same principles that work in Korea apply for the western market as well. |

Even if "gold ammo" means all non vanity items, this statement would still be correct if they start planning it tomorrow and releasing non vanity items next week.
The time it takes to implement non vanity items just depends on some factors.
1) The base store is already in place, it won't take years to implement a couple of items in the game.
2) Motivation, this thing could make lots of money, so the motivation enough for any company to produce something fast.
I'm sure they could start planning tomorrow and have some game changing items in the NEX store by next week if they really wanted to.
