I have no issues with believing that CCP released the SOE story themselves and then put the fire out to look like heroes.

Too much silence for NOTHING happening. Seen it all before, once the wall of silence gets ordered out, it is to protect news from getting out, end result, news gets leaked by employees.
Because of that, most big companies only give news to employees the same time as the press/public.
Seen it first hand.
