No, CCP is not philantrophic, they are a Company and want to make money, thats what companies do. I'm okay with that.
But who is going to buy a pair of virtual boot, if they can get real boots for the same price? Lets say 1 out of a hundred - and I think that is an optimistic gues.
If these Items would cost about 3 oder 4 Euros each, I would have actually bought some of them. And I gues much more players would have. It's no coincidence, that is many other micro-transaction games, vanity Item only cost a few bucks.
So you would get more money, a happier fanbase and the people would actually see what you were working on.
But well, these are just my 2 cents...
