- ZOMG incarna blew up my PCS: congratalations, you built yourself a ****ty PC's.. Go blame the manufacturer.. Software does not light hardware on fire.. ****ty hardware lights ****ty hardware on fire, or a PC clogged with cigarrette ash and pet fur. A capacitor popping on your mainboard ain't CCP's problem. Read your T's and C's
- ZOMG framerate is the suxors -- this is typical w/ any new release of a new engine. Give it time .. If it's that bad, disable load station environment and try again in a month. I'm running on a four year old ATI card and get 45 FPS with medium settings in station. If I didn't, I'd go buy a new card
- NX stuffz are sooooo expensive -- ok, speak with the words god gave you: your wallet, and just don't buy them. This is typical of many other games dangling their toes in the MT pool. The prices will drop when ccp realizes people aren't buying ****.
- I miss ship spinning waaaaaahhhhhhnnn -- cope, disable station environement. you'll get over it. If you're lucky, they'll put it back in.
- There is nothing to do, only one quarters, waste of time incarna sucks -- news flash losers.. this is a staggered content release.. they have stated until they are blue in the face the other racials are coming, as is a ton more incarna content. Be patient. It's better to release things they way they have than a singular monolithic bugged build with a zillion features that don't work
- aaaand the big one: zomg did u seez the newsletter?? ccp is gonna do all this bad stuffs and thinks of us as cash cows not lovy squishy peoplez
1. You're cash cows, get over it. Every company under the sun has closed door discussions like this. 'but we found out about it, so we can get upset' .. only because you're too ignorant to realize that they've been having discussions like this since 2003. Every decision CCP makes has 'making money' as a primary concern and 'making the game better/attracting new players' as a secondary and 'making the existing player base happy as a distant third
2. The vast majority of what was in that article is filled with 'what if's' and 'we could's'.. I don't see much 'we are' .. get upset about it when it actually happens, not for it being discussed in theory .

4. 'but they said they would never do these things!!!!' -- yea .. companies say **** like that to shut people up. Then they change their minds. Things change. Accept it and move on.

It is possible for bad code to cause a video card to burn up. It's happened before several times and has nothing to do with having crappy hardware.
If software is written correctly, nothing will burn up. Your cpu and gpu are designed with thermal protection. CQ is not written correctly. If it was then nothing would have blown up.
It's too bad these very simple facts completely escape you. When Crysis came out and everyone was cranking up the settings and bragging about how high they could set the graphics options, did you hear about anyone's hardware burning up? Really you didn't? How odd.

I find in hilarious that when a new feature is announced or released. the whine o meter jumps like 10 fold. Edit: uh wait. I forgot. And what do you expect ccp to do about it given its been less than 36 hours since the patch went live?? I imagine theyre still trying to find the cause at the moment, give them some time and go read a book or something, no eve != the end of the world. |

Just, no.. It really can't unless you're, ohhhhh I dunno.. running it on hardware that does not meet minimum spec, or running out of date drivers perhaps? Computers should come with a license requirement. Honestly. |

It's the customers that embraced MT shops in other games that started the MT ball rolling. So really all the companies are doing is taking advantage of their customers because the customers are too dim to realise when they're being taken advantage of. And the customers are letting themselves being taken advantage off because they want to feel that bit more special. But it's been going on too long and the compaines are fleecing lots of cash of of those customers that don't see it. It's not the companies to blame it's the customers that want to be special and think throwing their money away on useless ingame items will help them feel that way. Unfortunately the gaming world is stuck with MTs thanks to those customers. |

I'm hardly a fanboy, and I hear what you're saying.. it DOES anger me that they are trying to cash in on monthlys, and MT.. That's lame.. STO is the only other game I know of that does that, and it is a monolithic failur. EVE should be looking at a game like DDO, that is MT done right and it's an awesome game thanks to it. |

Partly true. The CQ seems to be pushing most, especially older card, to 100% GPU load. The problem with that, alot of times video cards have a fixed fan speed(usually ~40%), so they are not cooling off fast enough and can damage the cards. I have a GTX 470 OCed and with 1 client on max settings I'm getting great FPS and my temp is only at around 65 degrees celcius at 75% fan speed. IF I run 2 clients, my video card goes up to 85 degrees, maxed gpu load max fan speed. CCP does needs to optimize the GPU loads alittle bit, but people need to monitor their hardware better and adjust settings accordingly. |

CCP does needs to optimize the GPU loads alittle bit, but people need to monitor their hardware better and adjust settings accordingly.
And a properly programmed / built video card and system should auto-crash the system when it reaches a high temperature threshold. Mine does, and saves me from burnout every single time. ATI FTW, screw you antialiasing I never liked you anyways. |

Not really. If a software overheats your video card, the video card will just shut down, your pc will freeze and you will have to turn it off and let it cool a little before powering on again. Yes Incarna is very bad, my gpu temperature raises to unacceptable levels (10° more than modern first person shooter games), but it can't burn your video card. |
