sorry im a little ****ed off and frustrated at the moment. i'm not usually one to complain but i really dont understand ccp's point in this.

i log in in 1.0 space this morning and all of a sudden a new channel "incursion" opens up. after a few minutes i realize theres some type of invasion war going on from the limited info. i'm new to game and still learning the ropes so i cautiously approach one of the battles in 1.0 zone. several high level players there picking off ships so i join in...not too tough.

i go to another 1.0 system...no red npc's. find a jump gate and it sends me into point blank range of a dozen large vessels. seriously i'm destoyed in 1 second.

little ****ed because it took me a while so save isk and fit my destroyer. i understand eve is a tough game and your going to get killed often. i accept that but launching noobs point blank into situations theres absolutely no hope of surviving is aggrevating to say the least. i could understand if there was a warning or if it was 0.5 space or something. or **** launch me 100 meters out so i can survey the scene and realize i'm in over my head. in a noob zone ccp left me with zero tactical decision. i was basically sacrificed for what? its 1.0 space.

sorry for whine...i'm not a carebear. i'll take my lumps and save for another ship. i'm more ****ed because as a noob learning in 1.0 i wasn't even given a chance.

This is a important EVE lesson for a new player: If you don't know what you are doing, you will most likely die horribly.

Sorry, you had to learn it the hard way.

A "chance" for what?

Experience Incursions without risk? Learning? Warning? What?

I'm not trying to be a ****, I'm just curious. What would have been a better experience?

Part of the interesting aspect of Eve is the risk and the emotion you're feeling now. Soon you'll crave and seek it out. However, it can be a bit tough at the beginning.

Chalk it up to a lession learnt, and then put it behind you. This will not be the last ship you will lose to situations that appear completely unfair and unreasonable, but with each one you will be a little wiser and smarter.

Situational awareness is everything in this game, I've been playing for a little over two years and I'm still learning.

Indeed welcome to Eve.

Incursions are top level PvE content, so as a new character you will want to avoid them. If you find yourself in an incursion system (hard to miss), leave. Come back in a few days once the incursion is over. You can always find where the incursions are on the incursion tab in your journal.

Good luck!

That's nothing, if you are in the Erada constellation near Rens, you will have the Incrusion boucing between 50% and 3% as they farm it all month long.

Is there a limit on the duration of Incursions or how long you can farm it?

I woke up yesterday morning to the sound of gunfire. Sounded like a heavy machine gun. I had a popgun lying next to my bed, so feeling all tough and tetchy, decided i'd take a look. On the way what looked to be a salvo of rockets flew overhead. When I finally got there it was a heap of big, tank like things and guys with assault rifles. Seriously, I was gone in like 1 second Shocked

See what I did there?

Yes, only a couple of days before they move out, so you're blatantly lying.

Oh good so it does disappear, then today is their last day :) thank god, back to normality, but I do miss the oppertunity to troll an entire constellation.

There are big warnings all over the incursion systems.

And 1.0 starter systems are save noob zones. There won't be Incursions per CCP.

@OP: Welcome to Eve. Nuff said.

So you are complaining because you decided to run into a fight without knowing what an incursion is, without any experience and without decent weapons?

Yeah, you deserved it. Not CCP's fault. We all got killed when we were noobs but we learned our mistakes, you are trying to blame CCP for stupidity on your part.

When I thought my crappy fit Catalyst was going to survive in low sec I got destroyed and I was upset for a few minutes. Then I learned it was my bad for jumping into lowsec within my first week and without a good ship.

yeah i guess, i'll get over it but whats frustrating part is there wasn't a chance to be aware of the situation or make a tactical move...it was activate jump gate > look at all the red +'s at point blank range > count to 1 > pod back to base.

sorry but i didnt expect to have to read for hours on the internet before making any move in the game. i figured being in 1.0 i had a decent chance to participate at least long enough to get myself the hell out of there if it turned out to be tougher than i could handle. and i had a nicely outfitted thrasher setup as a tank with 5 turrets. again i didnt think i needed a battle cruiser two weeks into playing the game to participate in a 1.0 espace encounter. lesson learned for sure...

Oh I misunderstood your earlier post. You actually jumped into a Vanguard+ Incursion site on your own and got popped. That's absolutely totally fair, its even there in the journal "Forces required 5-10 players". On the plus side, you only lost a destroyer. Many "veterans" in the first couple of days of Incursions lost ships worth billions of ISK by making the same mistake you did. You got to learn the lesson cheaply:)

Too true, the question is why didn't CCP include a little pop-up warning that your route is going to take you through an Incursion. No one will ever accuse them of making this easy for the new guy.

An alliance mate had a similar experience when he visited Hi-sec a while back, and lost a fully fitted Machariel. So we learned the lession, set your autopilot and then check via the journal that your route will not take you through an Incursion.

Fly safe...

OP lost her ship by warping to an Incursion vanguard beacon, then activating the acceleration gate. That your friend managed to do the same thing in a Machariel while on autopilot is impressive:)

i got the popup but it basically told me of my objective. not whay i was about to face.i knew i was in an incursion area. i guess for any noobs like me reading this. the journal might be your best friend and a wise choice to check before some of these encounters.

i hope i didn't sound like i was advocating turning 1.0 into carebear zone...at least not any more than it is. but it would have been nice maybe to get told at least once to "be very carefull or you will get your ass kicked noob, anywhere and everywhere, if you dont learn to use your other tools (ie...journal) before venturing into unknown encounters" if ccp tried to get that across in the starter tutorials...i didnt get it.

i guess two weeks into eve i thought 1.0 was pretty harmless. i really dont mind these types of encounters anywhere and everywhere....just warn me once...i will accept my losses with no problem from there on out. but anyways....welcome to eve i guess...
