Noob at being FC.
So, I made a fleet with my alt accounts to try this Fleet Commander job out. I made the Kublah guy the Booster, Boss, and Squad Commander (the yellow bar icon was showing), plus he initiated the fleet joinup requests.
I flew the other two to a random belt in-system. Then I broadcast my (Kublah's) position, located right outside a station.
Then I rightclicked on the tag on the immediate left of where it stated I just broadcast my position, and chose from the menu "warp fleet to member within 0".
The other two members out in the belt didn't warp in to Kublah. Maybe I misunderstand? Do the other members have to initiate warp manually? I thought that it was possible for the commander to call in the fleet and the members' ships would auto-engage warp and come running in... No?
Maybe they have to be aligned first?
Like I said, I'm new to the FC role.Confused

When using the "warp fleet/wing/squad" command, it will only affect members that are currently on the same grid as you (members visible on overview).

If you want other fleet members not currently on grid, to move to your position, they will have to rightclick you and select "Warp to member".

If you want to learn more about organizing and using fleets, check out the article on the the evelopedia: Fleets

Ahhh ...OK, thanks!
So, what about those vids I've seen where a whole fleet comes warping in at the exact same time? Is that the individual pilots' synchronized spamming of the warp-to button?
That's a different visual than a hot-drop right? I think I've seen a hot drop as a fleet just appearing, no warp-in, whereas the other visual is where you can see the fleet warping in and slowing to a stop.
I dunno, maybe I'm just confused...

a synched warp is done cause all of the fleet members were pre-aligned to the warp target and already moving at speed so that as soo nas a FC does a warp, they all do it instantly

a hot drop is when capital ships use jump drives to jump into a system on top of someone. here is an example, fast foward to 2:00
