Edited by: Lamasul on 27/05/2011 11:35:17 As the topic already said my eve client won`t start since the patch yesterday. I tried to start the repair toll since this helped most of the time but i get this error.

Hi, See if clear your cache folder helps. 1) Start the EVE client (do not login yet). 2) Press ESC or click on the Settings button and go to the 'Reset Settings' tab and click on the 'Clear' button for 'Clear all cache files' 3) The client will prompt you to restart the client, click yes on that prompt 4) Once the client has been restarted login normally and see if that fixes the issue. If the problem persists, try the following: 1) Start the EVE client (do not login yet). 2) Press ESC or click on the Settings button and go to the 'Reset Settings' tab and click on the 'Clear' button for 'Clear all settings' 3) The client will prompt you to restart the client, click yes on that prompt 4) Once the client has been restarted login normally and see if that fixes the issue. Please do note that this will reset all the client settings to default settings. If the problem still persists, please file a petition from here, and assuming you're running Windows OS please include DXDIAG and logserver file in the petition. If the files size is large, then please compress the file before sending it to us, or if the file still refuses, then file the petition with just the DXDIAG to begin with.

Sorry man,
I've had this same issue since the patch. Have actually had a petition but without any luck either. three clients/ persistent through re-installs. Have to update skill queues through a VM.
Have tried re-installing; clearing cache; repair tool and have submitted logserver + dxdiag report.
If I get any assistance that actually helps I'll make sure to post it here. Although, it's been two days without a response.
Good luck, |

Have the exact same issue, except that my errors in the repair list seem to be different to yours.
Installed new client (not a quick task via Bigpond =|) only to get the same error report, even tried to copy the broken files from Sisi folder but leaves me with the same errors through repair tool.

To me, it sounds like you've tried to mix Singularity/Duality client with Tranquility client. 1. Make sure you have enough (2-3Gb) of free space on your main partition (usually it's the C: drive). 2. Make sure you have enough (around 5-7Gb) of free space on partition where your EVE installed. 3. Make sure you DON'T have EVE installed in "C:\Program Files". !!!!!!!!! Try deleting the mentioned offending files and restart repair tool. |

Try running the repair tool with --safemode as an argument.
create a shortcut to the repair.exe and add the argument to it's commandline - "repair.exe --safemode"
this should bypass the checksum step where it seems to be failing. |

Edited by: Lamasul on 27/05/2011 11:34:13 Daily bump of don`t forget. I also made some progress in repairing eve. The main client is about to start but won`t loade the UI of the login screen. The solution was to start the eve.ece in compabilitiy mode for win 7 what is a bit crazy because i have win 7 but it works. I will also post a new Logfile in my petition and im hoping to find a solution soon.

Edited by: CCP Mandrake on 27/05/2011 17:02:41 So i did some digging through the code and found another command line option in the repair tool that might just bypass that bit of code that is erroring...
Try changing the command line in the repair tool shortcut to the following: "repair.exe --safemode --disable_selfupdate --url=http://content.eveonline.com/RepairData_259851.dat"
now using the --url argument disables the mechanism which detects what build is running on Tranquility, so next time there is a patch, you will either have to change that url or remove it. hopefully i will have found a fix for this issue by then. |

It worked! The repait tool is going todo its job :) Some files of the client where damaged and succsfully repaired but the problem with the repair tool still exists because when i remove the attribute it comes the error again. But so far the eve client is running even after restart of my PC. What makes me wonder is thet i have to run my client in compability mode for win7 which is a bit crazy because my os is Win7. |
