That's right, unsurprisingly (to those of us with an IQ in more than double digits) CCP prefers to do things during their normal business operating hours. Not only that but the servers are in London in the UK, and that means what? You guessed it (or not) they prefer to do things during UK business hours!!!!. Either move somewhere else or quit whining.

No need to move country. Just switch game to one hosted in your Timezone. You get downtime / patches at a time to suit you, and we don't get your ignorant forum whines. Simples.
Unless of course you'd like to move the kick-off of the State of Origin series, or the next Ashes tour hosted "down under" so I can watch it at a time convenient for me in the UK? After all, I pay for my TV just like you, so I have equal rights, right? Thought not...

Oh Equal Rights... I love the social osmosis people espouse saying 'it's not fair that X is Y way, change X to screw population A so my population B is no longer screwed'. Because fair is f***ing everything up for the majority, for the benefit of your deserving, but SMALL, minority.
I know that the guy firing off the Equal Rights bit was joking, but he has a point. Equality doesn't mean you get what you want, quite the opposite. Live the Western dream and realise that your equality is assured by sitting with your great weather and lower-stress lifestyle in a nice country, while ours is getting EVE DT at decent hours while we slowly grind through our terrible, gloomy, 'don't yet know how to end it all when the vicodin runs out' lifestyle (in the UK).

Not living in Australia I don't really care, but I think it could be reasonably possible to move the DT 2 hours earlier. If it's at 11 am now it would then be 9 am, still well within working hours for CCP (if you begin work at 7 am).
A two hours earlier DT would mean that the Australians wouldn't have to be cut off in the middle of their gaming session, it would instead be before their session begins. And they would still get their fresh asteroid belts.
This also wouldn't adversely affect neither EU nor US. |

I think DownTimes should be both a) more often and b) random. This would ensure that everyone had an equal chance of being screwed, an equal reason to pitch a tanty and, well, the night shift at CCP would have to drink more [Quafe] to handle the stress. Win-win.  |

Eastern coast aussie here, honestly i dont mind it. Reminds me/gives me time to eat on my days off, we get good anom pickups on our days off, yeah mid-week sucks but if you have time to log in mid-week except for skill changes, your not working hard enough ;)
Oh and to the guy who said he was hunting for a dangerous spider - all of em are here haha.

I feel the pain for my Australian brethren's plight. Perhaps they should get their own server, like the Chinese similarly lagging in updates if any at all? That way, I can stop feeling their pain every round of game patching as they cry about it on the forums. |

To do it at any other point would be a bit stupid. CCP are getting the downtime shorter and shorter and it is one of their goals to near eliminate it completely. I can usually log back onto TQ at about 16-18minutes after it begins. I mean, really ... you can't find something better to do for less than half an hour? L2redtube  |

There is no point in rotating downtimes to accommodate you since the Australian government is going to shut down the Internet eventually anyway (moral issues, I understand). |

I don't think 30 minutes of downtime a day is hurting anyone, regardless of timezone. As far as extended downtimes go...I hardly believe aussies are the only ones suffering.  |
