It has been almost 3 years since the call to arms spread through New Eden for capsuleers from all backgrounds to unite under the banner of their chosen faction's militia. These calls were answered in droves by men and women alike who felt passionate about fighting for a cause or the opportunity to "win" a war.

At first there was much enthusiasm from every side of this conflict, heavy fighting occured on all fronts. The participation and subsequent isk value of losses were tremendous. Star systems through-out the warzone were contested, decontested, occupied and liberated on a regular basis. Great corporations, excellent fleet commanders, brilliant tacticians, shapeless agents of espionage, ferocious combat pilots (not to mention some bulging wallets) have been key features and bi-products of the ongoing battle between the races.

But for what? I ask you ...

So our governments can claim some kind of a "victory" by looking over an occupancy map and seeing that another system has been temporarily claimed under their flag? ...

So our pod pilots who place their isk on the line every day can feel they have achieved a glorious act of valour through the ashes of their one hundredth ship loss of the campaign?

[...]

Now fast forward to the present, the very features that have been key in defining the militia's over the last 3 years are becoming it's downfall. Those same corporations, fleet commanders and combat pilots have become some of the most adept and experienced war veterans in all of new eden. Those same agents of espionage have become so embedded within the enemies' ranks that even the quietest whispering of fleet activity is leaked to every corner of the warzone in minutes. The bulging wallets are reaching the point where pod pilots no longer hold any regard of what wealth truly means. They will engage with and lose single vessels with isk values that could feed an entire planet for a year and hold no remorse for such actions! There are even reports of super-capitals, which have long been the domain and privilege of large capsuleer alliances in the outer reaches of lawless space, being deployed on the battlefields of the empires militia regions with increasing regularity.

These factors have been continuously amplifying each other and left us now at the stage where actual fleet engagements are a rarity. All sides know their enemies' movements and tactics within moments of a decision being made. Faction warfare has become a breeding ground for pilots seemingly wanting to evade combat, or just a place to abuse the discounted loyalty point prices to fatten there own isk stores. All the while the Governments sit, happy in the knowledge that the war is being fought far from home. Refusing to acknowledge even the simplest victories, such as a star system being occupied, as having any real benefit to the occupiers.

Well no more! ...

As of this transmission, two of the largest and most renowned capsuleer corporations from the Gallente and Caldari militia's will no longer be fighting for the benefit of a never present government.

We (Shadows of the Federation from the Gallente militia and Wolfsbrigade from the Caldari militia) have come to realise there are bigger threats to the cluster than the mere quarrels of the empire factions and will be creating a formal alliance to destroy any and all who roam the outer regions of known space.

Do you have an announcement regarding any specific targets or regions of operations?

I know Wolfsbrigade are tenacious fighters so I imagine we will be hearing more in the near future regarding your first campaign?

What a bold choice. If your new organization will be in need of advanced drone units for its upcoming campaigns in outlaw space, feel free to contact myself or Sakuma Ogonuchi by NeoCom.

I offer my sincere good luck to Wolfsbrigade, who are a good and honest corp. To SoTF however, i delight in seeing their lossmails on the killboard.

I look forward to seeing everyone on the battlefield, whether friend or foe

I wish both safe flying and prosperity as you venture out into the universe. May your conquests bring you fame and fortune. And that your successes be heard even in the depths of wormhole space.
Sincerely,

p.s.
Tekitha my dear, your performance last night in bed was rather mediocre, even for a Gallente. I hope this new union into nullsecwith WBR will teach you a thing or two for when you return to me.

Good luck, I suppose.

It seems to me, you could make quite a difference by planting your flag firmly in Tama or Old Man Star. Those systems are rife with pirates and other assorted undesirables. Of course you have Star fraction up there too.

Will your new alliance be anti-pirate, or are you going out on the account? Low-Sec or Null-Sec?

I suppose you forgot the fact that Caldari Prime is still under occupation, along with millions of our citizens, and the auction by the Caldari Providence Directorate, which still applies whenever the Caldari decide to violate our sovereignty.

Despite this, the FDU will not be the same without you. Good luck.

Didn't SOTF venture into the outer regions of known space under the flag of R.A.G.E? Rolling Eyes

Now you seek to destroy them and all those like them? But how will you deal with the endless super capital fleets? Neutral
