The meta 4 version of the Shield Power Relay I, the Beta Reactor Control: Shield Power Relay I, has attributes identical to the tech II version, Shield Power Relay II, yet the meta 4 has less CPU than the tech II, making the tech II needless compared to a meta 4. Please fix this. |

You're looking at the wrong thing. The real question is, how much more does the Meta 4 module cost than the Tech II module. |

Snoop around for a bit and you'll notice that this pattern repeats for a large number of different modules. This is not strange or something that needs to be fixed — Meta 4 comes from a restricted, non-universal source; T2 can be manufactured on demand.
What Meta 4 gives you in is better fitting/better cap use/lower penalties or any number of effects in exchange for being more rare and more expensive. What T2 gives you is universal availability in exchange for harsher usage requirements.
It's a rather nice balance, tbh. |

This -Exception made for T2 gunnery/launchers still the best choice with T2 ammo (hybrids less extent) |

Here's an idea. Give each tech level it's own meta scale so that we have:
Tech I, meta levels 1-n Tech II, meta levels 1-n Tech III, meta levels 1-n ...
Have the tech level ONLY determine performance while the meta level ONLY determines drawback. All existing T2 mods can then be set to meta level 1, thereby justifying their high drawbacks. All named and faction T1 mods that have meta levels higher than 'n' can be reclassified as named and faction T2 (or even T3) mods with whatever meta level seems appropriate then. |

USe eft and compare more items...some creativity you get some nice fits with the cpu/pg freed up. Even when the t2 is better...looking at stats will have you going do I really need that really small difference for its fitting costs better used for a must have t2 fitting like weapons. Example...me I like my best named shield extenders. Yes they have less hp boosts but....they don't kill grids as bad as t2 does. Tight fitting shield fits F-S9 is your friend.

This is true for a number of modules, but T2 are often easier to acquire, sometimes even cheaper than meta 4's.
You really notice this out in 0.0 where most modules on the market are manufactured and because you can't manufacture meta stuff, your only option is either T1 or T2.
At least you don't usually get the case where the meta 4 provides BETTER bonuses than a T2. Just equal bonuses with lower fitting requirements.
