1. Go to staples.


2. Buy a bin.


3. Throw the iPhad in the bin.


4. Buy a laptop with more power, at a lower price.


5. Use the laptop, without any worries as to what you can install on it.

Burn it and buy a laptop, person above me is a moron. Spend £30 for an extra laptop battery and use battery saving mode, I get around 9 hours use out of my laptop this way and it cost half the price of your failpad

Not so much a moron, more I have a good job and I have a company laptop (I5), Iphone (4) and Ipad(2 3g+wifi).

out of the 3 I feel the pad gives me the best reading experience when on the move! Less bulk, not as heavy / clunky!

Iphone in pocket, watch a film or read on the pad, and tend to leave the laptop docked up for the more hardcore work that needs doing.

you guys need to be less aggressive, calling people morons before you know the facts? sheesh!

It's situational

I work in the technology sector, and we also have alot of meetings, tours etc where having a laptop is not easy(can't walk around taking notes or reading technical pdf's on a laptop while walking), yes I agree a notpad and pen would do the trick, but defeats the object of our sector, ie, technology.. !

The phone is for calls, emails on the fly
Ipad for trips, notes, tours and entertainment
Laptop is for the times I am forced to have to do some work!

Not sure if it was my own money I would buy them all, but who knows, I do like to stock up on things I don't NEED, just want, so maybe :)

Sad thing is OSX at the consumer level at least is likely to get more and more like IOS and become dependent on an app store for only running apple approved apps.

Before the Ipad I had one of those laptops that you can spin the monitor round, so it acted like a tablet.
I get that you think no one NEEDS one, I did not say that they do, well i said I don't NEED one but same meaning, the Ipad makes some tasks (I never said all) easier!

You seem butt-hurt over the cost of it vs a laptop? So if I were to come to you and say, hey Dray that new laptop you just bought, You have won a free ipad 2 with it! You are telling me you will turn round and say "no thnks don't need it" I know, I know you are going to say you would sell it and buy something better, or different, good point, but I do not need the money, nor is there anything I need, so i will stick to the think I want, for no other reason that I have all the other stuff and it makes it slightly easier to read/watch films on the tube :)

You seem to be taking my posts as OMG Ipad is soooo awesome!!! I fully admit a laptop can do it, however the Pad makes things easier.. yes it's a cut down IOS, but if I want something simple it's perfect!
keep in mind I have both, I am also fully certified in both windows and OSX so I know the downfalls.

I'm not butt hurt at all, but I will be soon as I've decided to upgrade and go for a 17" Macbook pro, you've created a need for your iPad that wasn't there that's what has me confused, as for receiving a free iPad I'd take it and sell it, simple as that.

All the reasoning in the world isn't going to convince me it's a good device, all it is as I said before is smoke and mirrors, it is a testament to the strength of the Apple brand that they can build an iPhone Jumbo and people will buy it.

Your post illustrated exactly why many people just fail to see any point with the Iphad. It's nothing to do with hate, it's just knowing it's a pointless device.

But I do enjoy reading, all the extra little excuses people use for having one.

Edit: Also if you hadn't have wasted money on it, you could afford a decent PC for gaming.

Flash content on a web page is a pain for my Symbian Nokia smartphone. I don't know how other smartphones and devices handle flash. And Symbian is crap.

It's the same on every forum I've seen, and I really do not understand it.

Possibly overexposure?

Might be similar to Ben Affleck, who a lot of people once upon a time took him reasonably seriously as an actor before he starred in Armageddon and Pearl Harbour.

Then he married Jennifer Lopez and **** got real - it literally got to the point where peoples peripheral vision was occupied by his face on hers.

Too much exposure can blind peoples ability to see the truth underneath it all.

He just wanted to screw her, and he ended up getting screwed.

Apple for years was the underdog in the computer world and Microsoft was the dominant force that everybody hated, even though without Microsoft we would probably not have EVE Online. Digress.

Now that Apple is the worlds most popular brand I guess it is time for people to start the hate mongering, even though, not that long ago, Apple had to get Microsoft to invest in their company or it would've gone bust source.

I can only imagine the jokes and lols from people ten or fifteen years ago if you told them there would be a Microsoft phone. Today, it is a serious contender in the market.

Whatever people choose should be their choice, and these days I personally think it is less and less about hardware (re: tablets and phones) than the user interface - which was my deciding factor in the phone I use and (on topic) EVE forums look good on the iPad2, as does EVE Gate.

I could also be (re: anger towards iPad2) that these should not be considered actual computers and that they have taken the 'geekdom' out of computers perhaps? No longer are things like emailing and web browsing complex, but easily navigated without the need for a ridiculous boot-up time and a reasonable understanding of computers to start doing. It just switches some people off. Now that these are within reach, the walls are coming down.

Some people do not like change - present company excluded.
