I have seen nummerous posts and it got me wondering about the same thing, the khanid are their own faction and there is a khanid ship for every type of ship, but not for battleship.

I also noticed that the abaddon doesn't have a T2 varient, nor the rokh, mealstrom or hyperion.

This got me thinking that there could be another battleship varient down the pipe. I have what i think is a good idea to fill that hole so i think i'll just dump it here and see who drools on it.

My idea for the T2 varient on these ships is a fast strafing battleship that gets an extra bonus to afterburners as well as a faction specific bonus while they are active. The idea is their base speed and offensive module strength is at its best when the afterburner is active but it recieves a staggering agility penalty and an increased afterburner cycle time which is in this case a bad thing. When i thought of this design i was thinking about the abaddon with torpedoes but this could also be applied to autocannons blasters and pulse lasers so i'll start with the abaddon.

Perdition (look it up on dictionary.com)
Battleship Skill bonus: 5% bonus to Torpedo Explosion velocity and 5% bonus to shield resistances per level
Juggernaught Skill Bonus: 5% bonus to torpedo Damage and 10% reduction to afterburner capacitor cost per level.
Role Bonus:
While an afterburner is active all Siege missile launchers base Rate of fire is reduced by 50%
afterburner cycle time increased by 200%
Agility penalty increased by 200% while afterbuner is active
Signature radius increased by 200%
Afterburner speed bonus increased by 200%
immune to stasis webbifiers
Skill bonuses are only active when maximum speed is over 85%

8 High points, 8 launcher hardpoints
4 Med points
8 low points
150 m/s velocity
the rest of the stats are similar to the abaddon, mabey slightly larger being a T2 ship

I assume you meant to say armor resist bonus... not shield resist bonus.

He didnt say anything about these ships being good Very Happy Shield resists and 4 med slots with a prop mod focus. Print it.

I think with speed bonuses that good, a Siege Module 1 is needed to beef up the weapons!

Perhaps you have just skilled up 'CCP Connections lvlV' and able to add this ship into eve (with the natural change for armour resists, Khanids still love armour tanking).

If not, well, you alongside many others, including myself can keep on dreaming Rolling Eyes

Thoughts on ship;

-Change shield resist to armour resist.
-Agility/RoF decrease (sig increase) with a 200% speed increase!? Just the normal ab speed will do me nicely. Sledgehammers aren't my thingRazz

Skill bonuses are only active when maximum speed is over 85%" - would never be implemented. Pointless bonuses nevertheless when you'd be cap drained almost instantly.

Someone said about about siege, implement a shorter duration/CD variant and we're getting somewhere.

your right is is an armor tank, i was fitting a shield tank at the time. the ship is intended to do a run past the enemy but now that you mention it a mini siege khanid ship does sound preferable. along with somthing for the other BSs with no t2 varient.

If you can add 36DD to that list I'm sure CCP Connections lvl5 isn't needed. Wink

anyway back on topic.

i really want a khanid battleship and I'm not the first. A mini siege module would be nice for this kind of ship, i also see alot of free expensive kills against those who use it wrong :P

I see 3 uses for this ship so far
1. giving first hand siege combat experience before getting thrown in with the dreadnaught pilots, (we all know what they are like somtimes)
2. making gate camping easier in lowsec :P
3. doing the khanid the justice of getting a battleship

BS Command (Flagship), +move gang links to be active when on grid only.

5% 'race' resists, 5% 'race' weapon damage /level of racial BS skill
5% 'race' warfare bonus, 5% 'race' weapon bonus2 /level of Command ship skill
Role Bonus:
GangLink fit reduction, can fit 3 gang links, 100% bonus to 'race' weapon damage

6 highs (3x weapon, 3x utility)
8/5 mids (depends on shield/armor tank)
5/8 lows (depends on shield/armor tank)

Khanid battleship would be awesome, though I'm not too impressed with the ideas here so far. Sure, it needs to spam missiles and armor tank, that's the clear faction flavor. But other than that? Maybe not much, maybe something a bit more unique. Dunno.

Thinking outside the box a little... Since Khanid also gives us the curse...

Surely...

A bs with an armour tank and a split focus between launchers and drones...

Say 125m bandwidth, and 175m bay... with maybe 5 launchers ?

And 4 meds and 7 lows.

That would be a Typhoon.

Go train that.

So if I stick a tiny 1MN AB on the Perdition and orbit something, I get twice the firepower of a torp Golem?

Highs: 8x Siege II
Mids: 1MN AB, 3x PWNAGE
Lows: 4xCN BCU, 4 slot tank

Ooooh, with Juggernaut skill at 4, that's a 20% bonus to torp damage, making it 8 * 1.2 * 2 = 19.2 effective torpedo launchers.

Two words: Unbalanced.

But no torp range/speed bonus. Well, it'll be good for short range PvP and the Damsel in Distress mission.

Javelins will just hit ~40km with T2 range rigs and Javelins do 90% of the damage of T1 ammo, so that's 8 * 1.2 * 8 * .9 = 17.3 effective torp launchers.

Still pretty imbalanced.
