Anyone else having this problem?
When EVE is up on my screen, it looks great. However, if I then minimize EVE to look at something else, my whole display is very dark and gray. However, when I bring EVE back up, it looks fine again. The issue is, this also continues after I exit EVE. The display on my screen is very dark and gray, and it's hard to see anything. I have to log off my machine and log back on (to windows, not EVE), or restart the whole thing. Then the display is back to normal.
I'm running Windows 7 on a 5 month old machine, and this has never happened before the latest build update. |

Yes, only my desktop goes all hot pink and over-exposed. CTRL ALT DLT and then cancel works just fine on bringing it back, but it's annoying. Somebody should probably file a bug report or something. I nominate you. |

You are not alone, I also have this exact problem. Sometimes quitting EVE fixes it, sometimes it persists after I've quit EVE and I have to put my computer into and out of standby to remedy the issue. IIRC I also had this problem a few months ago and posted a thread about it on the test server feedback, but since lost track of the thread |

I just found this posted elsewhere:
Players have been reporting an issue with ATI Video Cards and Windows 7 where the desktop darkened after closing EVE Online. This has been resolved by the AMD Catalyst? 10.12 software suite.
The downloads can be found here: http://sites.amd.com/us/game/downloads/Pages/downloads.aspx
Release Notes: http://support.amd.com/us/kbarticles/Pages/AMDCatalyst1012ReleaseNotes.aspx
We advise players to make sure they have the latest drivers and software for their systems. |

I found that if you change your screen resolution to something else than what u usually have it as then back again it fixes it. Quickest fix I've found so far but still annoying. |

Edited by: Moctezuma Xocoyotzin on 19/02/2011 20:10:24 Yes, i confirm that changing resolutions will fix the "pink and overexposed" issue, it was introduced in the latest patches and will not go even with latest drivers, also, it's not only exclusive to ATI hardware since i run EVE on a laptop with an Intel chip.
Have been playing on that laptop for a while and didn't had issues until latest patches. Running Win7, latest intel drivers and latest EVE build. |

Edited by: Qev on 19/02/2011 20:47:47This problem has such an elegant solution. Can't you just google it like everyone did? http://lmgtfy.com/?q=eve+online+dim+screen4th link Quote: In properties, under compatibility, disable desktop composition. That should take care of that problem.

Exactly this. I found that restarting the eve client, and quitting from the login screen was a temporary fix. Updating the drivers has been permanent. |
